Yunlan in the book is out and proud Bi and 5 minutes into meeting Shen Wei he THROWS himself into perusing him, buys a house near the university for them to live in and brings him home to meet is mom, comes out to her and tells her "it took me 6 months to convince him to go out with me , do NOT mass it up for me". The man was GONE from the word go....
