Die Szene ist btw supersupersuperwichtig! Hier kommen ne Menge unterschiedlicher Themen zusammen, die im BDSM Bereich ne Rolle spielen. Z.B. die Frage: "Was ist Dominanz und was ist echte Unterwerfung?" Oder: "Kann ein Dom/eine Domme eigentlich auch sexuell belästigt werden?", das Thema "Kontrolle über sexuelle Triebe" und natürlich der Unterschied zwischen nem kink und ner Paraphilie. :,D
Es zeigt auch ganz eindeutig, was für ein Typ Derek ist. Er baut ja echt viel Scheiße mit seiner pathologischen Lügerei und seinem eindeutigen Egozentrismus, aber sein Kern ist nicht nur gut, sondern... ich würde sagen, er ist sogar exzellent! :D

The scene is btw super super important! Here come together a lot of different topics that come to play when we're talking about BDSM. E.g. the question: "What is dominance or real submission?" Or: "Can a Dom / a Domme actually be sexually harassed?", the topic "control over sexual urges" and of course the difference between a kink and a paraphilia. :,D
It also shows quite clearly what kind of guy Derek is. He really fucks up a lot with his pathological lying and his glaring egocentrism, but his core is not only good, but... I would say it's even excellent! :D

You don’t need to be violent or even physical to be dominant. Or being rude! You can be politely friendly dominant and it’s powerful as hell! :D Being dominant doesn’t mean: “I have the right to take something and so I do!” It means: “I have a certain energy, that makes people WANT to submit.” True dominance is comforting. Like… imagine the leader of an ancient tribe. Male or female, doesn’t matter. It’s highly likely that this person was a dominant person. But at the same time VERY likely a person to put your trust in. A loving person that is able to make clear decisions and to avoid mistakes made by other members of the tribe by asserting dominance. That’s what I have in mind when I think about true dominance. Its… intelligence, caring, taking the lead, because it’s their nature, the thing they can do best. :3 it also is a great relief to all people who are NOT dominant. XD oh, how happy I am around a dominant friend making simple decisions for me. It’s not, that I’m weak or confused, or… some other derogatory term … XD I’m just…. Often very mentally exhausted. I just want someone who likes to decide what to do in mundane daily life situations. It’s relaxing. I can just… comfortably follow them and relax in their natural dominance. XD to me, that’s relaxing. And comforting. It’s like you said: two sides of a coin. :3

The importance of consent is what makes a BDSM relation work, what keeps the scales in balance. Mr. Problematic here might be dominant in nature, but it's the toxic, selfish kind. I like to compare it with the state of the world regarding men and women. While men take on a primal level, the dominant role in the act of mating, that does not mean they are superior. It's when people can't see the difference between these two, that toxic behaviour, culture and societies develop. Like two sides of a coin, you cannot value one over the other: it's the whole of the thing. Derek, stopping when Aslan said no, was already a good indicator of his moral compass. Your fantasies and desires are your own, but imposing them or sharing them, aye, there lies the rub eh^_^?
