Progress Report, 19/08 - 22

Hello everyone and welcome to a brief progress report!

While my day job keeps trying to batter down the walls, the fort is still holding. As a massive milestone I've managed to sort out the lip sync for all vocalized words for the Miranda project, which is one of the most time consuming (not to mention tedious) matters there is for these kind of projects. Reactive noise and the likes does not take nearly as much time, so while I'm yet unsure as to the project's release window, if my job blesses me with extra time it shouldn't be all too long now. My previous attempt at this didn't turn out quite the way I wanted it to, so I've had to re-work a lot of what I had accomplished before, which was initially discouraging, but what I ended up with is thankfully a big step up in quality by comparison. Getting over this hurdle thus ought to help with motivation too, where I can now focus on the more interesting bits of sweet, sweet vorcha love and getting that animation up to par.

Nothing exciting to share in the ways of images sadly - Miranda's hairless half-scalped head with her staring blankly into your soul like you're partaking in the most excruciatingly sluggish slowbang isn't interesting so much as it's nightmare inducing, and that's what I've been staring at for quite a few hours lately.

The project is finally coming together at least, and if I'm extremely lucky I'll be able to get it out the door before the 20k milestone is reached on twitter and I have to consider another celebration piece of some sort. In my defense the road from 15 to 20 has been much faster than previous ones - again, a good problem to have, but goddamn it :)

Thank you, as always, for your continued support and for all of your kind words. The heat is utterly unbearable up here at this point, so I can only sympathize with those who are even worse off with heat waves, fires and what have you. Hope you're staying safe and that you and your loved ones are holding up - we're all in this together, at the end of the day.

On that note, take care of yourselves, and each other!
