Monthly Patreon Exclusive: Ear Candy!

Hi all,

Here's the monthly Patreon exclusive video on music production. We've done compression, delay, and making music from scratch. This time we're talking about ear candy: effects, risers, drops, swells, lasers, and more.

We'll go over different types of effects, make some from scratch, and show how to use some of them with tips and tricks to get the most of them.

If you have any questions, let me know in the comments.

If you have suggestions for the next month's video, also leave a comment!

Molto interessante, professore!

This was great, thanks! I have a video idea - could you do a deep dive on using the stereo field? For example, besides the oscillating effects in this ear candy video, would you use more stereo if you fleshed out this transition demo? Also, when, if ever, do you “break the rule” of keeping bass centered? Do you ever think far and near as well as left and right?

I have warping for long samples turned off but for smaller samples it's still on and it defaults to beats mode. All of this is adjustable in the settings of Ableton.

Love this video. 🦊♥️ You said "Ableton automatically warps things." As it's configurable, do you leave this setting enabled as part of your general workflow? Do you ever turn it off?
