Heaven Official's Blessing//TGCF: Episode 10 FULL LENGTH Reaction!

**CONFIRMATION-FILLED HEADPHONE WARNINGS**

I have ZERO regrets watching ahead on this one -- we not only get confirmation FINALLY that San Lang is Hua Cheng, but that he's 100% whipped for Xie Lian, can flawlessly fight ghosts while sashaying and carrying the love of his life bridal style, and is truly a FORCE to be reckoned with...good thing he seems to have a thing for Xie Lian!

Xie Lian remains oblivious and humble to a fault, and while we don't necessarily get answers to the questions being asked, it's becoming clearer what type of questions we SHOULD be asking at this point -- and THAT is exciting! How do we only have two episodes of this season left?! NO!

Heaven Official's Blessing//TGCF: Episode 10 FULL LENGTH Reaction!

Comments

After the donghua, I'm going to start reviewing Volume 1 of the TGCF novel and the manhua at the same time! After that, I've not 100% decided; I'll likely be consulting Patreon when the time comes, hahaha!

Romaniablack

Hey Romania, What is yr plan after finish this animation? Start to read novel and Manhua of TGCF? then start Scum Villian? I wish u can read the novel and understand why we love XL and HC so much but I also hope u can start Scum Villian asap too, haha… Scum Villian is also very good. I love all MXTX novel😘

Kathy Cheng

Ahhh, thank you for the translations! Netflixxxx *shakes fist* haha, I appreciate it! That does help a lot in the context of the episodes. And while I love the romantic antics of our domestic star-crossed pair, Zhao is very much still at the forefront of my mind! I guess we’ll have to see what happens with him, ehhhh? Ooohh, that is a really interesting note about the veil that Xie Lian was wearing in that episode; thank you for letting me know that! And about San Lang’s weapon, too! I appreciate the translation and kind words and comment! Cheers for the next episode!

Romaniablack

Haha, I'm glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for the kind words and comment!! :D

Romaniablack

Omg I have watched this with a huge smile on my face 😄 thx again for the reaction

Lutfiye Hamernik

Hahaha, I showed restraint, eh? :) And wow, that’s such an awesome Birthday gift! And ooooohhhh, interesting that Xie Lian’s animal mascot is a weasel; then again, weasels can get through any nick and cranny possible, so maybe it speaks to his adaptability? That’s interesting, though! I’m glad y’all enjoyed my reaction to HC and XL in this episode! And yes, I think calling him SL while he looks that way makes the most sense, and HC in any other iteration. I demand fan artists give us a Sailor Moon-esque transformation sequence! The XL and HC/SL scenes in this episode were everything, though! I loved how swoon-worthy they were! And yesssss, especially knowing that bit of plagiarized art that was from Levi in S3 and the comparisons of Levi and HC? I do LOVE the coincidence that Levi’s VA voices XL in the Japanese dub (still blows my mind). YES! I love that MXTX is all, “You know NOTHING” in this episode; it’s great! But I agree, I feel for Ke Mo – I love that MXTX doesn’t make him “just a grunt/villain” - he actually has character depth to him! He’s definitely having a rough time, though. And the mystery of Zhao deepens! *strokes chin Qiren-style* But I love how mystery is handled in this! It’s GREAT! And leaves me hungry to learn more! As much as I love LWJ, if HC ends up being the Yiling Patriarch combined with LWJ? Uhm…there may not be contest, there! Bwahaha, we’ll see! And THANK YOU for not spoiling me on his weapon! I can’t wait to see more of it! Also, HC is seriously just SWOON WORTHY in general, so…but YES! This show – having the reveal and then saying, “What were you expecting?” hahaha…oh, MXTX….our boy HC/SL is whipped for XL, but he’s definitely no “saint.” I love Xie Lian in this episode and how he doesn’t judge HC – I cannot WAIT to read these sections in the novel! Bwahahaha, and that’s great about the rumors on the Yiling Patriarch! Seriously, that one guy that’s the priestess’s dad DEFINITELY looked like WuXian! Thank you for the kind words and comment! I really can’t wait to listen to the OP/ED’s with lyrics properly (probably with the OVA and the advertisements), so that should be fun! :) Maybe I’ll separate them into two separate videos…we shall see!

Romaniablack

@Jenny V, that is so interesting! I have been calling him San Lang while he's in "that form" to keep myself on track in the discussion, haha, but I can see your reasoning, there! :)

Romaniablack

Yesssss, the wait was worth it for this one! And ahhhh, that plagiarism scene is WILD! That is sad the donghua has gotten a bad reputation because of that; thank you for posting that in the discord – I still love the episode, but that’s so fascinating that they decided to include THAT animation in this fight?! Hahaha, I didn’t think I’d be sitting here comparing Hua Cheng to Levi, but here we are! ^^ I also like that the Netflix version actually lightens things so you can see Hua Cheng’s rampage, though it makes it harder to realize that it was dark enough that XL HAD to “feel up” HC…you know, to check to make sure it was him, hahahaha! And YES! Finally confirmation! I can’t wait to read this in the novel! Xie Lian is also so funny in how instead of judging HC, which he’s fearful of, he is more concerned with him making smart and safe decisions! Hahaha! And yes, XL doesn’t seem to care who you are; if he likes you, good. If not, get out. :) Gotta respect our scrap-collecting deity! And yessss, you can definitely tell the contrast and comparison on him and WWX! I think I'll talk about this in Ep 11, but I like that MXTX is giving us protagonists that aren’t cookie-cutter similar and have some variances; same with HC and LWJ! :) And thank youuuuuuu for not spoiling me! I can’t wait to get into them, and while I’m sad season 1 of the donghua is ending, I’m happy that we’re getting into the novel soon! To pass the time before we get into Season 2! :) Thank you for the kind words and comment!!

Romaniablack

Yesss, Whiteboard-kun is back! :P Xie Lian just kills me in this episode (and poor Ruoye, you’re right!) – I’m sure he knows that San Lang is Hua Cheng – the episode just can’t help but make him seem oblivious romantically to Hua Cheng’s advances; and I think it hurts with us as the audience not knowing what he’s thinking. Y’all that have read the novel know, but it is a little more difficult when you don’t have that context (another reason I’m happy to start reading the novel, soon!). Having watched the next episode, I can say I figured out what the deal with the barrier was, so there’s that. I definitely don’t want spoilers as to if we’ve seen his true form or what that looks like or anything about him that hasn’t been revealed; I know I’ll find out eventually. :) I was wondering if it was the same VA playing both SL and HC’s voices, so that’s good to know. I do love that Hua Cheng, despite being hopelessly in love with XL, is “not nice” and we see that illustrated with how he killed all these soldiers of Ke Mo and threatened to desecrate their bodies. And yessss, thank you for not spoiling anything with our mysterious priestess! I do love that idea that Ke Mo is telling her story, so yes, it’s one side of the tale…so what’s the other side? I’m excited to see that unfold! Ahh, and I think I’d like to listen to the OP/ED with lyrics alongside the OVA maybe? That might be fun! :) Thank you so much for the kind words and comment! I appreciate it!!

Romaniablack

Thank you 🥰

BetterSweetThanBitter

Ahhh, I think I will probably/maybe view the Season 2 trailer after I've read the novel to help pass the time before it comes out -- I may look at the OP and ED with the subtitles when I look at the OVA! :) And no worries; your English is great!

Romaniablack

Hahaha, free therapy after an MXTX work? Seems legitc! Yes, I don't want ANY hints or clues with the characters that I've not been given info about -- I know I'll get to it eventually and I want to be surprised! :) And I agree, Xie Lian is pretty oblivious when it comes to romantic advances from Mr. Smirk, but he's so accepting that he doesn't care if he's a ghost or not; he trusts him and that's all that seems to matter! <3 How romantic, eh? I just love that San Lang is so powerful, but also completely whipped for our cinnamon roll deity! Thank you for the comment!! :D :D

Romaniablack

I couldn’t help it! This show BEGS you to binge, eh? And yes, Whiteboard-kun returns with a vengeance! YES! We can reduce the black boxes now that we know Hua Cheng is San Lang! Whoooo!! That is awesome what his clothing is based off of! Thank you for that information! And ahhhh, him catching our cinnabun was so PERFECT! Fangirl screams are mandatory! :) And yes, Xie Lian just rolls with Hua Cheng; who cares what his identity is! And YES, don’t think I’ve forgotten about Zhao – I’m pinning him in the back of my brain for now. :) I do feel for Ke Mo; he comes across like he could just be a run-of-the-mill character but ends up being much more sympathetic than he seemed at first glance! I like how MXTX makes us challenge our perceptions of characters. And yeah Hua Cheng is VERY strong…and whipped for our cinnabun! I love it! Thank you for the kind words and comment! I’m SOOOO ready for the next few episodes!

Romaniablack

Thank you for the reply. I can't wait for you to read the novel and the manhua. Will you react to the opening and ending song of heaven official's blessings with the eng sub? And to the teaser of season 2? The YouTube account Bilibili has some official music videos of heaven official's blessings. Ps: sorry for any grammar mistakes, English is not my first language.

BetterSweetThanBitter

Right!! I may have confused people watching, but Xie Lian to me is ROMANTICALLY oblivious to Hua Cheng and his advances. We've set up since the start of the season that he's been trying to slowly divulge if San Lang is Hua Cheng, and they've all but narrowed it down, but like you said, he doesn't care who or what he is; he's not judgmental! Haha, I'll have to clarify my definition of "oblivious" with Xie Lian in future discussions, haha! But I'm on the same page as several of you in that regard. :) I love that the mystery deepens in this! And it makes sense it was super dark in the pits; good thing Xie Lian has no qualms about being held tightly by Mr. Smirk! ;) I do love that he gets onto Hua Cheng/San Lang -- this man is probably one of the most powerful ghosts in the story, and Xie Lian is still all, "Don't jump without looking, silly!" I can't with these two, already. ^^ I love that Hua Cheng is ridiculously strong and cunning, and is also weak at the knees for our scrap-collecting bean. And YES! I'm so ready to get more into the story with this mysterious Evil Sorceresssssss! :) :) Thank you so much for the comment!!

Romaniablack

I am so glad we're finally here with Hua Cheng! And I agree, Wangji is my favorite in MDZS, but Hua Cheng....he may be claiming the top MXTX spot, too, for me! I just love him in this so far! Thanks for commenting!

Romaniablack

Yup, they changed the ED once it was confirmed for us that San Lang is Hua Cheng. I think it was actually the song from the first ED (after episode 2 for you, as HC escorts bride-XL through the forest). So here we got another version of the fall of Banyue, with the Preceptor being a half-blood little girl who first fought on their side and then turned traitor for some unknown reason. And now we have no idea who those other two ladies are. We have to accept that it was super-dark and Xie Lian still doesn't know what Hua Cheng really looks like. But he's quite the gentleman, cradling XL in his manly arms while he play-fights with KeMo. And there is some kind of blade flying around like it has a mind of its own and something bright red in its hilt. I don't think Xie Lian is oblivious (aside from romance overtones). No breath, no heartbeat, already passed all those other tests, but XL doesn't care who San Lang really is, is unimportant. XL knows San Lang is at least a powerful ghost, probably HC, but has other things to focus on. He likes "San Lang" so he'll trust him and use his own judgment. And grope him a lot :) He'll let San Lang explain himself when he's ready, I guess. Also, he wants to protect San Lang, whether he is Hua Cheng and a ghost king or just a nobody. "Don't just jump into a pit!" - even though he was about to do the exact same thing. These two! They're competing for who will protect who. SO sweet! San Lang/Hua Cheng is a beast when it comes to fighting - and fighting dirty, too. He'll tear all those ghost soldiers' bodies into dog meat if KeMo doesn't behave. SO here she comes...the Preceptor, the Evil Sorceress, the wrath-level ghost who both gets herelf strung up on a pole and then breaks loose easily to smack some of the ghost soldiers into the Pit.

Serralinda

Right! I like to joke that he seems oblivious -- I remember that he's been suspicious of San Lang as Hua Cheng since the beginning of the series, but in the Sinner's Pit, he DOES "seem" oblivious -- now I haven't read the novel (but I'm going to, so please no spoilers), but when I do, it'll be fun to see it from Xie Lian's perspective and get more into his head -- I don't carry the knowledge that most commenting do at this point, but I'll get there, don't worry! :) Thanks for the comment!

Romaniablack

As others have mentioned, Xie Lian is NOT oblivious, he is very clever. Notice that about 30 seconds after first meeting "San Lang" he brings up Hua Cheng meaning he immediately suspected that this youth was Hua Cheng from the moment he met him, then he goes about doing all of his tests for him. Later when his assistants grumble about this San Lang clearly being Hua Cheng, Xie Lian doesn't deny it and says that he hasn't hurt him or done anything bad to him so it doesn't really matter either way. Here too he very clearly sees the devastation that "San Lang" causes (which would take someone SUPER powerful) and hears no heartbeat so he basically confirms it immediately and San Lang also knows the jig is up which is why he asks if Xie Lian has any questions for him and Xie Lian reiterates that it does not matter one way or another. Xie Lian is not oblivious at all, he has just lived long enough to know not to judge people by their position in society.

K Henderson

When Xie Lian said “Alright. Thank you.” in the pit, a better translation is “I’m glad you’re fine/Thank goodness you’re fine. Thank you.” When San Lang said “don’t worry, just relax”, the correct translation is “It’s ok, don’t move (as in telling Xie Lian not to attack, let him do the hard/dirty work instead)”. When Ke Mo said “You are all henchmen of that wench. You must die!”, he was cursing them to die very horrible deaths, basically saying they won’t be able to rest in peace. When Xie Lian said “Would they be thrown into the pit by the ghost in black too?”, a more accurate translation is “Would the female corpse in black sweep them down here too?”. This one is pretty much correct, but the words used in Chinese are subtly different than the English sub and I thought it would be interesting to see Xie Lian’s original choice of words. When Ke Mo said “all the ghosts of our kingdom will haunt you to death”, a more accurate translation is “The the ten million souls of Banyue Kingdom that died in injustice will never let you go!” BTW, Banyue means “half moon”. Both the kingdom and the imperial preceptor are called Banyue (Ke Mo revealed this in this episode). It’s very strange that a person would have the same name as the kingdom. When Ke Mo said “Why did she do that?” before his soldier said the imperial preceptor opened the gates, the correct translation is “What happened?”. I think he was worried for her at first, like he thought she didn’t appear because something happened to her. He didn’t think she betrayed them until actually hearing his soldiers say that. To be honest, I completely forgot about A’Zhao the first time I watched this episode because I was so caught up in the lovey dovey fighting twirls. I’m surprised you still remember him, great observation! Remember that Xie Lian had his veil on during the whole stroll under the umbrella. Traditionally, Chinese wedding veils are opaque, so you can’t see through them. Thus, theoretically, Xie Lian only saw Hua Cheng’s hand when he reached for him in the bridal sedan. Remember the curved scimitar that San Lang used to cut the cross on Xie Lian’s hand before sucking out the snake poison? That’s it. “Eccentric” was the right translation. The original Chinese is that “her temper became more and more strange/weird”.

FourSunsets

I know neither are a courtesy name that’s kinda makes it even more weird for me to call him san lang since it’s a specific Xie Lian name that only he calls him. But I do get why people would want to separate his forms since they can be very different.

Jenny V

I always call them Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji too. But for San Lang/Hua Cheng neither is technically a courtesy name I believe. Just when he's in his *various* forms I personally like to call him by the name for that form. Completely understand other people preferring to only call him Hua Cheng, or only San Lang.

Anime Annie

I hope you enjoy it!! :D :D

Romaniablack

Oh, don't worry! I know about the "13th" episode -- it's an OVA, though -- I usually don't call OVA's "episodes," if that makes sense. :)

Romaniablack

we should have 3 more episodes in Netflix not 2? Dun miss out the last one, the last episode (episode 13) is great!

Kathy Cheng

Me too, Hua Cheng is my new favorite, I love him much more than Wangji, haha🤣

Kathy Cheng

I literally never call him san lang because it seems so sacrilegious to call him that since Xie Lian is the only one worthy to call him san lang to me. It feels too familiar to me 😂 like I’m definitely not worthy to call him anything other than hua cheng it’s so hard to comment on people reacting to tgcf and have to say san lang at the start. It’s the same with wuxian and wangji, I always call them their courtesy names.

Jenny V

A paid vacation? I believe all of us deserve a free therapy course after consuming TGCF in any way, form or volume *nervous laughing* Best girl is also here, jumping down from her pole! And best boi also appeared, not elaborating here huhu At this point it's safe to say Xie Lian is more of an all-accepting type than the oblivious one, and he keeps more to himself than he says. Is this mysterious man a ghost? Eh, he might be but he's not trying to harm me so I'll go with whatever he poses as, and won't ask questions. And if Hua Cheng IS that boy from Xianle kingdom, Xie Lian must be not only a beloved person to him but a prince and a god as well. Anyway, he definitely knows that Xie Lian is a god. And a god should be worshipped, kept from all the harm, dust and blood. Touching your god can be a touchy matter also! If the floor covered with ghost bodies is 'dirty'... is a living ghost worthy to touch a god? San Lang behaving like a besotted mafia boss and flexing his killing skills in favor of Xie Lian's investigation, ahaha!

Einery

WE ARE FINALLY HERE!!! THE PIT SCENE!!! One of my most anticipated scenes of the first season, and it delivers!!!! But firstly, I’d like to mention the whole “animation issue” that I spoke about in my previous comment that put a damper on this episode for me. Fortunately for you, it was taken out of the Netflix version, and I think other versions online too. They had to cut a part of the fight scene between Hua Cheng and Ke Mo in the pit because an animator had plagiarized the animation from Attack on Titan (Levi vs the Beast Titan in season 3). I only say it put a damper on my experience for this episode because this was the second accusation of plagiarism for the donghua (there apparently was art plagiarized in the OP as well which they took out too), and I hated that it sort of gave the donghua a bad rep when it came out. It was so noticeable too, when I saw the scene for the first time, I recognized it immediately because it’s like shot for shot the AOT scene. If you want to see the scenes side-by-side, I’ll link it in the discord after I post this comment. And, one thing to note, the pit used to be a lot darker visually due to censorship, but in this Netflix version it shows so much!! Like all the bodies and the blood ☠️☠️☠️ they just didn’t show much and had it shaded more, which, to also mention, the pit is supposed to be pitch black for Xie Lian. That’s why he doesn’t really notice the difference of San Lang’s physical appearance and also why he was feeling up his body 😏😏😏 Speaking of San Lang and the CONFIRMATION OF HUA CHENG. Lol, what a goofy guy. Made up a charming and witty human persona just to get closer to his crush, i respect the hustle 🤣🤣🤣 the whole time he was carrying Xie Lian was such a romantic moment. I love this scene in the book, so seeing it animated was everything I could have ever asked for. And Xie Lian is so funnyyyyy. Like Hua Cheng is insecure of whether or not Xie Lian will come to hate him for deceiving him/being a Ghost King, while Xie Lian is just like: “Hmmm, seems like a good time to lecture this boy on high place etiquette. He shouldn’t be jumping into pits all willy-nilly.” I also love Xie Lian’s comment about how identity doesn’t matter when it comes to befriending a person. It really establishes his character, and I like how it clarifies that he’s not just a person who wants to befriend everyone and blindly trusts them. He takes careful thought and doesn’t let titles sway how he feels about a person. Because I’ve seen characters like Xie Lian that tend to just believe in every single person they meet despite how terrible some may be, but that’s just not how the world works. There will always be despicable people in this world that you can’t befriend no matter what they identify as, and I’m glad MXTX establishes that Xie Lian has a good sense to draw the line between who he seems as good and who he deems as bad. Idk, it’s hard to explain, but hopefully you get the gist of what I’m trying to say! Another thing I want to note is that I like the contrast and similarities between him and Wei Wuxian. Although, personality-wise, they’re rather different. But I like how both Wei Wuxian and Xie Lian are these powerful beings, but they’re also very grounded people. Like Wei Wuxian was this powerfully feared demonic cultivator and used to be the head disciple from a really well-known clan, but he also knew what it meant to go hungry and understood those who were less privileged to be born into the wealthy clans. Xie Lian is the same way in which he is an immortal god, but he’s spent more time living with and as a mortal that he’s more human than god mentally. Having them as the protagonists of their respective stories really give more relatability to the audience, and I commend MXTX for choosing how to tell their stories and make the characters we follow easy to empathize with in that sense. Which I guess is the main point of a protagonist sooo 🤣🤣🤣 Ahhh, it’s so hard to not confirm/deconfirm any of your theories. I’m always worried about accidentally spoiling something, but I think I’ve done really good so far!!! I must persevere just like MDZS 😅😅😅😅 But oh man, we’re getting to the end of the donghua. I do remember these last two eps, the timing was so weird. Like they really were trying to stretch out a small bit of content into two episodes. This is also to blame for why I couldn’t wait each week for another episode 😬😬😬😬 Great reaction, looking forward to next week!

Kixkay

Danmei Monday and the return of whiteboard-kun! Xie Lian is just the definition of "you jump, I jump" and he would not let anyone block his way down! And Ruoye the precious bandage need some head pats after all this, it has to be tied around a big bad ghost and it most likely got a serious concussion when charged right onto the barrier. I don't think the barrier is San Lang's job. Ke Mo said that his soldiers are trapped down there for years but as far as we know San Lang aka Hua Cheng's just been here today and since he can kill them off in seconds, why bother with barriers? Xie Lian's just done with all the identity guessings: the man carrying me is Hua Cheng for sure, but since he's kind to me and super hot, why do I have to point out his true self? Let's talk about friendship and not jumping down pits first. Hua Cheng's true form is revealed, but not really revealed. The donghua team really said out loud "that's extra price to show his eye!" with this episode. I just love that while Hua Cheng and San Lang is the same VA, his voice is deeper and more "a reliable mature male" as Hua Cheng and a playful youth with a hint of mischief as San Lang. And while Xie Lian has his bandage weapon, we may just got a glimpse of Hua Cheng's weapon, that notorious scimitar who chopped up 33 heavenly officials and is still haunting the gods' zoom meeting back in episode 4(5). While Hua Cheng's being Xie Lian's trustworthy knight, he is indeed "not a good person" as he said himself on the ox cart, threatening Ke Mo with the dead bodies of his soldiers. The story of the evil priestess is told by Ke Mo, but we all know MXTX loves her one-side-view story, so is this the whole truth behind the rising and the downfall of her? Let's just wait and see! The new ed is the same song as in episode 5(6) when Xie Lian and Sang Lang are happily chatting on the ox cart, but this time we are blessed with lyrics! Will you be reacting to the songs after the show Romania? (op, ed, etc)

sqqlbh1314

I'm impressed that you were able to wait to binge until this point. This is the episode that came out on my 29th birthday so what a wonderful present for me right? Helped make up for waiting a week after that cliffhanger in the last episode! Give us the recap just to keep you on the edge of your seat as if you hadn't been cursing for a week how they ended the last episode! Your comment that Xie Lian hops down like a bunny rabbit!!! 🤣 In fanarts I have seen him with bunny ears looking adorable. Though his symbolic animal mascot is a weasel. No explanation I believe has been given for this, but there are many fanarts for both. Xie Lian: San Lang? Romania: No! But yes, but NO! I'm in actual stitches laughing so hard. Your reaction was everything. Personally I call him San Lang when he's in that form, and Hua Cheng when he's in the other form. Mo Xiang Tong Xiu playing an Uno Reverse with knowledge you already thought you were sure about (regarding the three women introduced this arc). Thanks to your comment I now *need* fanart of San Lang doing a Sailor Moon-esque transformation into Hua Cheng! 🤣 The princess catch and carry is just so great 🥰 But then we get Xie Lian feeling all around Hua Cheng's chest and face. And if that wasn't enough we get Hua Cheng being a frigging badass with fighting Ke Mo so nonchalantly whilst carrying Xie Lian. This is definitely up there as one of my favourite scenes. The linkage you made between San Lang/Hua Cheng and Levi! I do love it, but it also makes me laugh because in the Japanese dub Xie Lian is voiced by Kamiya Hiroshi (Levi's seiyuu) 🤣 In regards to his rank, remember that Xie Lian said to Fu Yao and Nan Feng that if San Lang was a ghost he'd have to be of Devastation Rank to have passed all the tests Xie Lian carried out. Now who do you think you'll swoon for more: Lan Wangji or Hua Cheng? Hua Cheng is definitely badass personified. And the way he is so casual about his power I definitely get mad Yiling Laozu vibes. And now it's not a spoiler: say hello to my favourite Mo Xiang Tong Xiu weapon!!! 🥰🥰🥰 The name doesn't get mentioned in the donghua so I won't tell you what it's called and leave you to discover that in the novel/manhua. But yes, Hua Cheng's scimitar is my favourite! Xie Lian: You killed all these people? Hua Cheng: Yes. Xie Lian: *starts scolding like he's his mother* Hua Cheng: Wait you aren't gonna scold me for anything else, just for jumping into the pit? I love them. I really do. That lean in from Hua Cheng and the way he said "oh?" Deceased 🥵 But ugh, Xie Lian's viewpoint always makes me tear up. He cares about the person and how they get along, not who/what they are. Probably why this cinnamon roll wins out (ever so slightly) over Wei Wuxian for my favourite Mo Xiang Tong Xiu protagonist. His words are especially meaningful considering the time period it's sort of set in. If you think of how Wei Wuxian was treated as lesser in Mo Dao Zu Shi simply because his father had been a servant, it really shows how amazing Xie Lian is that he can go against the herd with their belief that your standing and identity are the things that should affect how you are treated by others. Or potentially that things have come to pass since he was Crown Prince of Xianle to make him this way. Xie Lian just making Hua Cheng fall even harder for him! Honestly though, I do feel a little sorry for Ke Mo. First he's forcibly dragged into the Sinner's Pit, left to land roughly, then got Hua Cheng slaughtering his kin and messing around kicking the absolute sh*t out of him in the most blasé manner possible. Then Xie Lian joins in 'cause he seems fed up of Ke Mo's continued aggression and b*tchslaps him with Ruoye. Banyue General really isn't having a good day at all! Of all the ways you thought they might reveal San Lang as Hua Cheng, I bet you didn't think they'd do it this way...and then just completely ignore the fact! I love Ke Mo calling Xie Lian and San Lang on their bull. They both really did voluntarily jump into the Sinner's Pit. Xie Lian even dragged Ke Mo down there with him! So it completely makes sense that he's suspicious of them and their motives. A-Zhao got hit by Ke Mo when he tried attacking the Banyue General and ended up getting knocked into the pit. As to where he is...it's Where's Wally? just for A-Zhao and in a deep dark pit 🤣 In one way I like San Lang giving respect to the Banyue people's beliefs regarding death. In another, he is using those beliefs for his own gains and to scaremonger Ke Mo into sitting down and having a tête-à-tête. "Is that you Wei Wuxian?" Oh my god, Romania! 🤣 Considering some of the rumours that spread about the Yiling Laozu stealing women during his time in the Burial Grounds with the Wens, it makes this all the funnier. I honestly love the way the mysteries in Tian Guan Ci Fu unfold. First you get some information, then you make some theories regarding that information, and then you're given more information through someone else's viewpoint. But no single person can be an unbiased teller of events they've lived through. And so you're left with some more questions until you get more first person evidence on what actually occured. Even then the whole mystery may never unfold because of how many sides a story might have. You're right that the ED is different. From this episode onwards they do a different song. The images though stay the same. Personally I think I like this ED more than the previous one.

Anime Annie

Finally Hua Cheng 😍 at first Lan Wangji was my favourite MXTX character but since I discovered TGCF, Hua Cheng is definitely my new MXTX favourite character. He is just so in love. I love him so much.

BetterSweetThanBitter

Ahhhh, that admission at the beginning to binging the show was so funny😂WHITEBOARD KUN MAKES A COMEBACK I get the frustration on this. But HEY! NOW YOU GOT CONFIRMATION THAT HUA CHENG IS SAN LANG! The number of black boxes decreased after you announced on Discord that you watched 2 episodes ahead😂 The clothing on Hua Cheng, mentioned in the Discord, is of the Miao people, which is one of 56 ethnic groups the Chinese Government recognizes. They are composed of 4 different groups and are related through language/culture. These ethnic groups are scattered through South China and also scattered through Southeast Asia, and their influence can be seen in some regions of Vietnam, Laos, and Thailand. If you look up Miao People, you'll see some of their beautiful, intricate clothing and the influences they have on Hua Cheng's design, as little as you can see here. the way I screamed with you when Hua Cheng catches our baby cinnabun was inhuman. I think I woke my grandmother up because of that. I love how Xie Lian doesn't even question Hua Cheng about his identity, he just goes with it! Zhao? who's Zhao? I see no Zhao.👀who Zhao? 👀 *cough cough*👀 Ke Mo was a tragic character in my opinion. He trusted the Imperial Preceptor and she turned them away. I think MXTX is a amazing for reminding the readers not to believe her characters at face value. Cause in MDZS, we were led to believe things out of the perspective of Wei Wuxian, but then we get the truth out of everyone and we realize it's not like that. The same happens here in TGCF, not every detail is to be taken at face value. Hua Cheng, as you can see, is incredibly strong. Just a boop and Ke Mo is yeeted across the room. HUA CHENG IS WANGXIAN'S LOVECHILD!!! Ughhhh I'm so excited for the last few episodes! I can't wait to see your reactions to them!
