Attack on Titan Season 3: Episode 19 FULL LENGTH Reaction!

Link To Reaction: https://streamable.com/yu4rg9
**Your Ears May Be Safe this Episode**

We're FINALLY here. It's taken over three and a half seasons, but we made it to "The Basement" this episode. There's a lot of much-needed lead-up TO the basement, though, and while I'm sad we only get a "taste" of what's to come towards the end of this episode, it's definitely enough to get my hyped for what's to come in these last three episodes of Season 3!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

Thank you for watching with me and for all the support!

Attack on Titan Season 3: Episode 19 FULL LENGTH Reaction!

Comments

I LOVE that Atsushi's VA voices young Grisha; knowing that, you can definitely hear him in this! :) And YES, answers finally here! Bertholdt in Armin's head is so tragic; it's like the last lingering remnants of him...and Eren and Mikasa's guilt at that knowledge...the shoe being Carla's makes total sense, and is just so sad. As is the fact that Erwin isn't physically there with them when the truth - that he and his father were right - is revealed. UGH, that line about apologizing to Erwin that Zachary says to Nile is pure heartbreak! T_T And hahahaha, I feel my views on Floch are going to be a mess in this series, but I'm excited to see more with him! Thank you for the kind word and have a great day, too!

Oooooohhhhh, thank you for reminding me of that! I will have to talk about that in the recap! :) :) :)

You will notice in this episode Grisha saying to Eren I will show you the basement when you realise what is the most important thing of all. In the very first episode of the show he wants to show Eren the basement when he returns from his trip after hearing what Eren said.

PS

Young Grisha is voiced by Uemura Yuuto who voiced Atsushi in bsd. Even though we didn't get much from the basement this episode it just feels so good to know that we will finally getting answers. Berthold's titan form looking down to Armin and crying is creepy but also kinda sad. Eren and Mikasa also both know they put Armin in this situation. Because they were selfish they put all this pressure on him. I think the shoe fell from Carla's foot when the titan lifted her up. It's so sad that Erwin can't be there with them and see that his father was right all along. "You'll just have to apologize to the man himself." But Erwin won't come back. This really broke my heart. Your thoughts on Floch are really interesting to me. Wish you a wonderful day!!

I was GOING to say, of all the episodes of AOT, this one has felt the most "stretched" at this point, so that makes sense! I do appreciate (having seen Episodes 20 and 21) that they built the tension so that the rubber band SNAPS for the next two episodes. :) And wow, I get the reason for Floch now -- I'm going to talk about him and Jean being similar characters, so that's fascinating that Isayama likes Jean as a character! :) I was so expecting Erwin to weigh in, but that wouldn't have been fair to Armin, would it? UGH. Definitely the weight of this decision weighs in on it all. And yeah, at least Levi is good at living with his decisions. I love the idea of Nerdwin and Normie-Nile besties, too. **sigh** And Tuesday is SO CLOSE. SO CLOSE. I cannot WAIT!

Merry Christmas Romania! This episode was quite a bit stretched out, containing essentiallyonly one manga chapter (usually it's 1.5 to 2). Not sure the extra buildup was really necessary after almost three seasons of basement hype, but this episode ended up a bit thin to make the next ones even better. Interesting to see your reaction to Floch. Isayama has said that he wrote him onto this part because he reaized that he needed someone to say the uncomfortable truths that the characters (and the audience) don't want to hear. In general, Isayama loves writing those characters, and has said Jean was his favorite character (at least in the first few arcs of the story) because that was his role. (And Jean couldn't have played it here, given his history with Armin). I think a lot of people expected Erwin to clearly come to and weigh in on the decision. But that's not how Isayama does things, no easy outs here. The weight of this decision is something that will stick with us... at least the one making it is not exactly known for regretting decisions. Haha Nerdwin and Normie-Nile, what a great image. Waiting for the next one is going to be difficult...

Seriously, the fact that these people inside the walls have never experienced a caffeine rush is a national tragedy! And, ahhhhhhh, I cannot thank you all enough for biting your tongues and not spoiling that for me! :D I love this so much -- the repression of technology and everything; it's crazy! And yes, that explains why Zeke was so fascinated by the gear! And with Grisha, too! Ahhhh....I like to think that Erwin is with them, being proud at their discovery. I think it's interesting/fitting that Armin doesn't get to go, either. After all, he's "not Erwin's replacement." Thank you for the comment!

Romaniablack

OH THANK YOU!!! ANKA! I really feel bad always forgetting her! I'm going to make a conscious effort to remember her name! :)

Romaniablack

Yessss, we're finally here! And ha ha ha ha ha, there's PLENTY to talk about in the next episode, I'll say that. *evil cackle* The Basement....it's like Isayama saved it all up for this! :) Merry Christmas to you, too! I'm looking forward to Tuesday and next Saturday! :)

Romaniablack

Everyone basically said what I was going to say lol. This is a great christmas gift! Also, you talking about the symbolism in the ops, i’m wondering have you ever read the lyrics? I suggest you watch them with a version that has the lyrics translated over the op at least once. It gives me chills!

Thank you so mucccchhhh!! FINALLY! Oh, BUCKLED IN! :) Merry Christmas to you, too!!

Loco Logic

Seriously, I'm trying to soak it all in ...as we get closer to the final season, I'm going to be sad when it's over.

Romaniablack

Thank you so much!!! Merry Christmas!!

Merry Christmas everyone! Finally, we know the brutal and absolutely terrifying truth ... that Humanity Within the Walls don't even know what *COFFEE* is! If that isn't a blatant violation of the Charter of Humanity, I don't know what is πŸ˜” But way back when, maybe back in Season 1? ... you mentioned how this could have been a reference from The Village. It is exactly as you theorized, a primitive society isolating themselves from the rest of Humanity. We basically had to bite our tongues and force ourselves to not say anything, all the while whistling inconspicuously! πŸ˜‚ This harkens back to the Interior Police, who was directed by the Reiss family to crack down on anything remotely resembling human curiosity and free independent thinking. Not just repeating firearms, cartridges, and high explosives, but also Humanity Within the Walls's technological and scientific progress and kept them in a primitive state. While Humanity Outside the Walls naturally evolved as expected. So it's at least a 100 year technological gap. For example, when Zeke took Miche's ODM gear. He truly was curious at what they were using since where he comes from is far more advanced. Or how Grisha was able to cure the plague back in that Keith Shadis flashback episode. He was up to speed with modern medicine from where he came from, so he knew what to do. Of course the citizens of Shiganshima, not knowing anything about this, put him on a pedestal and sees him as a prodigy. But this confirms Erwin's theory. He was right all along. He would have been so proud.

AOT the gift that keeps on giving.

The basement is just so good. After we found out everything in the basement, we got answers to so many questions. (not all, we got a few new questions too, but it's AOT) I was just so happy and satisfied with the basement, that I literally forgot to watch the rest of the season when it came out, bc I felt so satisfied with the basement, that I didn't want it to get ruined by some new question that would pop up before the next season. prepare to make a few hour video next, xD. I have seen a lot of people make twice as long videos as they would do on average, with normal episodes, when it comes to basement, meryy xmas

The truck

Merry Christmas definitely my best gift today πŸ₯³

Daimon Mcilwain

Yes!! The prep for the "gift" to come! Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you, too!

Romaniablack

Yessss!!! Unwrapping the biggest gift from AOT so far, right!?

Romaniablack

Opening the basement on Christmas Day. Too perfect!

Loco Logic

An episode for getting us ready for what's to come. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone!
