Oh, y'all! I did love a good vampire story back in my younger years, and this looks like it's going to be added to the list! The characters may look cutesy now (they're LITERALLY children, so) but the story already has quite a dark, fitting tone for a vampire story!
I'm already VERY intrigued by the story, with these two mains (or maybe one? Nah, who we kidding, ahahaha!) and the mystery of what's going on in this dystopia world! Let's do this!

I'm going backwards and seeing your comments, haha, but yesssss, this was QUITE the first episode, right?! And YES, Yu and Mika reminding me of Eren and Armin, DEFINITELY! I can see the similarities! The dark tone was surprising, but it's drawn me in! So yeah...we just witnessed an entire family taken out...fun times. Hopefully, some levity in store, right?! :)

Yes definitely got AOT vibes especially with the MC reminding me of Eren a bit & Mika like Armin & some of the lines that were said too. I was not expecting it to be so dark off the bat lol I'm new to this too so this will definitely be a fun watch😅hopefully because we just witnessed the whole family being slaughtered😭these kids in these dark Anime can't catch a break! Timeskip again looking forward to what's next!🙌🏽wow.

And yesss, the 90's and early 2000's were vampire-crazy, and I'm here for its revival, haha! There was so much that happened in this episode and I'm excited to get to the OP/ED in a few episodes! And wait...WAIT....The same VA does Akutagawa and PHICHIT from YOI?! THE RANGE! I had no idea! Thank you for the info and comment! I'm excited to get into this series!

I think this is one of the only anime where the first episode actually shocked me so I had to just keep watching, that first minute really throws you off guard. Honestly I think anyone that grew up in the 90's and 2000's just loves vampires, I was born in '91 so I grew up through all that too, especially the Twilight craze haha So much happened in the first episode, it's like whiplash. The poor kids, Mika's plan was good but of course he's only 12 and Ferid is smart, albeit cocky but he saw right through Mika and now Yuu lost everyone, thankfully he's not alone though! The OP and ED are probably one of my favorites ever, really good songs and visuals but they are indeed full of spoilers. Usually that's not a big deal since op's are always full of spoilers but this op has a major spoiler so it's good you're skipping them for now! Also you being surprised the voice actor for Mika is the same on as Akutagawa but the same voice actor also voices Phichit in Yuri on Ice, he's got range!

Two large time skips and death already? I’m probably going to watch ahead just because I’ve got the time, but so far I do agree with your theories. I don’t think there’s a CHANCE that Mika is dead so I’m also betting that he’s going to be turned into a vampire one way or another. Ah, yes bring on the angst. Haha yeah I also got hanako kun vibes with the outfits and I’m loving it because the officer style fits are so cool. Curious on how this series will go!
