 *HEARTBROKEN HEADPHONE WARNINGS*

First of all, APOLOGIES - I had this entire reaction recorded, but because the mic wasn't turned on, it didn't pick up any sound...UGH. Hopefully, y'all can read lips in the reaction in the link!

But, I did want to talk with you all about this episode set, because it was GUT WRENCHING!! While I am all for hate-shipping the tension between He Xu and Lu Guang, but also, Liu Ye won my heart these episodes...only to have my love be shattered!

Thank you so much for the comment and all the context and information with translation! Translation can be a BEAST so I appreciate you explaining the slang in more detail for me! That is SO SWEET about the letter - thank you for offering a translation, there, for me! Ahh, the chopped pig foot makes MUCH more sense now in connecting back; thank you! Thank you so much for the kind words - luckily, the next few weeks at least (as I’ve recorded up to Episode 16 as I’m typing this) will have the full reaction and sound! Thank you for your support and patience with me! Cheers!

44:02 The slang word "耍流氓/ behaving like a hoodlum" can have multiple meanings such as "playing dirty" or "flirting" etc., and the usage in EP11 is "acting indecently", while "流氓" itself means "gangster/hoodlum". I think that this is just a slight oversight from the translation team for not fully comprehending the words used in the context. 44:40 The letter isn't really plot related, but it does add some indirect depictions to Liu Ye's character or show a tiny bit of reflection to the commotions in the digital age throughout this arc. "Dear [pen name, can't read it fully because of the cursive handwriting and the camera blur], Greeting, thank you for your letter. This is the first time that I have received a handwritten letter from a reader. Thank you very much. I thought people are not writing letters anymore." 57:45 The slang word that is used by Xu Shanshan in EP11 for being molested is "咸猪手", as in "salty pig trotter/ being groped by a dirty hand/ wandering hands". Therefore the content in the box is a chopped pig trotter/feet. Even though a piece of media is missing, I still enjoy the key moments for the reactions and the extended review for the episodes as well!

Oh, thank you! I was VERY emotional that evening when it happened but I’ve put that behind me now; I just felt so bad because I felt my commentary was *really* good in that reaction! So I have to double-check now for future episodes! Lessons learned! But thank you so much for the kind words! Episode 11 was ADORABLE and fun – which should have been a warning sign, considering this is LINK CLICK. Lu Guang’s micro expressions have me OBSESSED as well! I really am obsessed with his actor and how he portrays him! My eyes are constantly glued on him in the episodes! And LG TOO COLD?! Have they WATCHED the donghua at all? Especially Season 1?! He’s very warm compared to that, I feel! QL was so sneaky and it felt so like her and very “sisterly” for her to do with CX; I loved it! I didn’t realize they were in their donghua outfits in the photo so that has me sent as well! I’m glad y’all pointed that out! And CX with the “tracing” trick is SUCH a sibling move! Only Child LG could never! Haha! The camping trip was so bougie but I loved it so much! The TENSION between HX and LG with CX just frantically oblivious in the middle of them has been so intriguing to watch go down in these episodes! I’m glad I’m not the only one that found ShanShan’s performance to be artificial; it’s been the one performance to throw me out of the series so far. LIU YE. MY JAW. JUST. WHY HIM!? He’s such a sweet bean, and I hate how this episode’s plot just pile-drived him! It makes me mad how people can just sit around and not do ANYTHING but make the situation worse. It definitely points out how messed up this entire situation is! I wanted to give him ALL THE HUGS! And yes, at least the people who are his friends are standing by him and trying to support him! And that the Editor was actually really reasonable about the situation! I appreciated that, too, and it subverted my expectations as well! I’m SO ready for this coming week and also NOT ready for this coming week. Thank you so much for the comment, kind words, and support!

First of all, I’m so sorry that happened with the microphone, that sucks so much >_< I can only imagine how frustrating it was. I do want you to rest assured that this was a wonderful and super fun reaction regardless. Thank you for putting so much effort and passion into them <333 Okay, let’s talk about this episode set now because that was… that was rough. Considering how episode 11 starts I was NOT expecting everything that happened afterwards. Because episode 11 is SO CUTE and fun. I kept being just swept away by how fun it was seeing QL, LG, and CX just being comfortable together about what they do and being, generally a family. LG has me OBSESSED with all the micro expressions he does, especially towards CX. Like, he’ll just look at him with the softest eyes and have these tiny smiles and they’ll all steal my heart in a blink. I need more moments of Lg just being the softest boy. As proven by him getting CX those boxing gloves he wanted from the beginning so much. Adorable, I tell you. You know, some of the criticism for this series that I’ve seen online has being that LG is too cold in here, and I genuinely don’t see it. Like, sure, at the very beginning he was cold, but he didn’t know CX yet. Now I cannot see that man and think that he has become too cold compared with the donghua. Sure, he keeps his expression in check most of the time, but the flavor is in the subtleties with him. I just don’t get it. QL weaseling her way into working with the boys with superpowers was so funny. Made only more funny by LG being annoyed, low-key of course because LG could never be genuinely mad at them for it, that QL and CX are so similar. He’s being adopted into the family because he’s the boyfriend and I love that he’s more free with that feeling now XD THE PHOTO IN FRONT OF THE STUDIO HAD ME SCREAMING! The fact they were in their donghua outfits was a very nice little nod that certainly had ME fangirling. No, seriously, the whole camping part felt like a *trip* lol. Definitely a bugie camping experience though, I was thinking the same thing. He Xu and Lu Guang having so much tension with each other is just amazing. It makes HX super suspicious, yes, but it’s a delight to watch, to be honest. If there’s one thing I can’t stop thinking about with CX using the pencil to see the indentations LG left when he wrote there is that LG had no defense against it because he has no siblings so he never expected this to happen XD Just because I can imagine little CX doing this with QL before. I’m sorry, but I agree so much that Xu Shanshan’s performance about crying because she was molested on the train was… a little bit funny 😅 It definitely felt like the most artificial performance on the show so far. And then the whole Liu Ye thing happened and my jaw dropped to the floor. First, it’s exactly as you said, his life was moving forward and looking so bright and because of this whole thing it’s just being shattering and that’s just so awful and cruel. And then it’s the fact that I hate what happened so much. I hate that this whole affair that was already messy enough was made 1000x worse because all these people *recorded the whole thing and uploaded it to the internet as it was an expectacle with no regard for anyone’s boundaries or personal space at all.* And it ticks me off so much because it’s something I hate of our society nowadays. Yes, it’s one thing for all these people to get involved because it’s a worrying thing to happen and you should, I think, act up when you see something like this happening - now, there’s the whole debate that they didn’t actually see anything but for the sake of the argument let’s pretend they did - and another thing entirely to uploaded it where millions of other people that have nothing to do with it all can access it and cast judgement in things they don’t know and violate personal boundaries. That whole thing just messed with my head so much. Seeing Liu Ye’a life crumble was devastating. I wanted to hug him so hard. Something I appreciate it is that the people who actually know Liu Ye are all supportive of him and know that he wouldn’t do such a thing. And isn’t that a commentary on itself? The only ones throwing stones at him are those who don’t know jack shit about him (pardon my language, I don’t usually swear but this episode brought it out of me). Anyway, that wasn’t te point I was trying to make about it. Point being, that I just love how nice everyone is because I was SURE the editor would just fire him because of the scandal and not try to reassure him. It was a nice subversion of my expectations. And now LG, CX, and QL are on the case and I really hope they can help somehow.
