Revolutionary Girl Utena: Episode 9 FULL LENGTH Reaction!

**LOVELY TRIANGULAR HEADPHONE WARNINGS**

Y'all -- this episode GRABBED me by the shoulders and chucked me INTO Whiteboard-kun!
I. Am. Gobsmacked!

The character development, the shipping, the tension...the lack of proper CPR training! I wanted Saionji and Kiryuu development and boy, this episode gives us more than some crumbs! I need more! But I also need to take a breather, first! *fans self*

Revolutionary Girl Utena: Episode 9 FULL LENGTH Reaction!

I can tell there’s a major tie to memory and interpreting the past, which is probably why I love it so much! And yes, literally everything you’ve said here are going to be things I talk in episodes to come (since I’ve recorded ahead - I can’t wait for you to see and be like, “Yep, she’s on the same page,” haha!) – And yes, the use of that music to tie back to that theme is really smart! Thanks so much for the comment and kind words! 😀

Ahhh, thank you so much! YES, this episode was WILD! NGE meets Puella Magi meets an extra dose of uniqueness -- I'm SO excited that this series has as much to it as it does. I can't wait to see where it takes me! Thank you for the comment and kind words!

I did not notice that, but trust and believe down the road (since I've recorded a little ahead) I will be making notes of that! Thank you so much for the comment and kind words! I'm so happy you're enjoying the reactions and theorizing!

I’m sure you noticed, but Kiryu didn’t say “because I’m a gentleman” he says “because I’m a feminist”. What a guy. Your analysis and reactions are priceless!

Knew this episode was gonna have you flooored! Puella magi gave you a taste of Evangelion and this one goes just as hard. And there’s triple the amount of episodes as Madoka. It’s gonna get so good!!

The show is really juggling a lot about memory, how we interpret past events and our connections to others in these first handful of episodes. Miki's stuck because of his own misinterpretation of his past, Juri's tortured by her inability to correct someone else's misunderstanding of their relationship, and now Saionji's chasing an idealisation of Kiryu because he thinks he has the secret to the world. It got me thinking about 'The Sunlit Garden', which is a musical piece comes from a concrete place - the connection between Miki and his sister - but has actually twisted into something that it isn't - a reminder of an idealised past. The show regularly reuses animation and music, but I think when 'The Sunlit Garden' is used to score another scene, it adds another layer of commentary to what we're seeing, twisting it in a similar way.
