Frieren: Beyond Journey's End! Episode 5 FULL LENGTH Reaction!

**APPRENTICESHIP HEADPHONE WARNINGS**

NOTE: Time Stamps for short reaction/discussion in-video!

Frieren and Fern continue their new quest, but a run in with a "monstrous" guardian to a grimoire Frieren wants leads them to decide with taking on a "front-liner" to help with such battles...enter: Stark!

I already love this dashing red-headed rogue and what lies underneath his persona. I cannot WAIT to see the relationship and dynamic he develops with Fern and Frieren! The party is getting bigger!

Frieren: Beyond Journey's End! Episode 5 FULL LENGTH Reaction!

Comments

The phantom moment with Himmel saying "shoot me" is SO insanely well done for such a subtle moment! I am in full agreement that Himmel is literally (to Frieren) the Jesus equivalent. Thank you for the comment!

This episode contains two of my favourite small interactions/moments, Fern turning Heiter's words back on him about being a bad girl and Himmel's phantom saying "shoot me". In Frieren's memory Himmel is so incorruptible that even a phantom of him made to lure her to her death does the heroic thing... as someone said, he might just be this world's Jesus.

Thank you so much for the kind words and comment! I actually had planned to have both of those series on the next poll (after 86) coming up, so that’s great that you mentioned it! πŸ™‚ I hope one of them comes into contention – it would be fun to feature them!

I think those comments about fear are so appropriate for Stark right now and I agree with your brother! I really love how low-key, but emotional and impacting this show is, while not trying to be grandiose or over the top or overly dramatic -- it hits a really beautiful balance so far! Thank you for the kind words and comment! :D

OH MY GOD - He IS the "Dead Wife" Trope! *slaps forehead* That's genius; I can't believe I didn't make that connection - thank you for pointing that out and for the comment!

Oohhh, thank you for the translation information! I love Stark so much already, but I agree -- I feel bad for Eisen and how the two of them share similar paths; no wonder Eisen took him in! And yeah, each episode further iterating what an amazing guy Himmel was! T-T Thank you so much for the kind words, info, and comment! :)

You know the dead wife trope in movies that the male hero keeps getting flashbacks of. That is Himmel for me 🀣😭. He appears so ethereal??? every time Frieren remembers him

Great reaction ! Will The apothecary diaries be on the next poll with dungeon meshi ? Great seasonal anime ( light novel adaptation, listed for 24 episodes currently on episode 17 ), its one of the most watched of the season with frieren / dungeon meshi ect ( so it would surprise me if no one told you about it ) . it would be great to have it in the same poll and im sure that you'll love it, the story is obviously really good but the production too, it has its manga adaptation too and it is really popular in japan and other country ( for good reason believe me, i've been reading the light novel lately and i love it even more ), its your style of anime i think. ( sorry for my english )

I remember my brother turning to me after this episode and saying, "This anime just keeps getting better. It may already be my favorite since Violet Evergarden." The comment surprised me and told me a lot about the show because he is a more harsh critique of shows then I am. As far as being a coward, or being afraid, I remember a quote, "The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear." There was another one about the greatest courage is shown by overcoming fears which amounts to the same thing. Have a great day!

I like how in almost every episode we are shown how great of a guy Himmel was. Eisen mentioned that his village was attacked by demons (and his parents died due to it) but with thise episode's context, it's even sadder and that he and Stark have similar pasts TwT. Stark - Strong The "Einsam" - The "Lonely" (a monster called Lonely who lures people in with phantoms of their loved ones, so it preys on people's loneliness, I guess, fitting name)
