OH, this episode shifts the gears of the show and in a fantastic way! Even though we get a beautifully heartfelt flashback, the tone transitions hard, as we meet a demon that shows these "monsters" are not to be trifled with!

Y'all, this episode was full of surprises and I was in LOVE with it! LET'S GO!

Thank you for watching with me and for all the support!

Frieren: Beyond Journey's End! Episode 7 FULL LENGTH Reaction!

Comments

Maybe that's it -- the fact that elves take so long to develop a relationship...and maybe it IS just Frieren? Himmel is SO unfortunate that he was born human...if he was born Elf, it would have been that meme with the giant book next to the tiny book in how this series would have been. And no worries! I'll get to the comments when I can whenever you make them! :D Thanks for the comment!

When Frieren states that Elves doesn't have romantic feelings and/or reproductive instincts i feel that's not quite the whole picture. I think we can say at this point that her feelings towards Himmel is heading in the romance direction. And an organism without reproductive instincts wouldn't exist to begin with (granted in a fantasy world elves might have been magical creations way back when). Perhaps all of elvenkind was dispersed in some ancient calamity (episode 10 shows us that is partially/locally true) and they are now mostly wandering around in solitude, and perhaps because of their long lifespan they need 80 years together to develop those feelings. Our main man Himmel just managed to put (handsome) statues everywhere and make so many precious memories that he romances Frieren from beyond the grave, now that's game. I had a lot to say about the demons and their portrayal, but i'm trying to keep these short, already dragging up these months old reactions, bombarding you with comments on all of them. Perhaps there will be more to talk about later.

Oohhh, interesting, I definitely will want to talk more to your point about Himmel and Aura in the next episode, but thank you for the kind words, comment, and translation!

The connection to Johan is CRAZY -- and yessss, what an antagonist that I didn't see this show getting at the moment, but so welcomed to it! Especially against Frieren. And Flamme is Prometheus? Makes sense. I love the concepts and the way this show is handling them in such a fresh manner! Thank you for the comment and kind words!

Romaniablack

Ohhhh, seriously, this is the demon equivalent from the fantasy story that we didn't know we needed! Thank you for the comment -- let's see if they do any other quirks Johan has "done" in the show (That I've seen so far! ;) ).

Romaniablack

Johan? What are you doing in my Frieren anime? Love what you did with your hair~ But in all seriousness, great reaction as always.

I loved this episode, it was packed with a lot of great world building moments: festivals being the way humanity keeps memories across lifetimes. Flamme not just being a notable mage but this world's Prometheus, but instead of fire she brought magic to humanity. Demons being a more evolved version of monsters that would yell 'help' to lure their prey. Pretty cool concepts. And on top of all that there's Lügner: The cold and affable demeanor, the chilling presence you can feel coming before he even enters the screen, a monster who merely imitates human demeanor... Lügner looks and acts just like a long haired Johan Liebert. They're even framed similarly.

When Himmel heard Frieren mention how she is probably the only one who remembers Flammes Face because for many she is like a fairy tale, I think that kickstarted his statue making habit of wanting everyone to remember them and to not leave Frieren alone in that feeling. Festivals are ways for humans to remember things many years into the future, so I think that's why there are festivals for many occasions. Aura regained her power 28 years ago and Himmel died 28 years ago...mhh I think she was scared because Frieren mentioned she lost most of her followers against them, or else why would she only reappear only when Himmel died? And I think with Graf Granat attacking the demons, he only attacked them in private because that's the safest option? We don't know what would've happened if he attacked them in public with so many people around, so I feel like he was being cautious and careful. "Eng" Road - "tight" Road Lügner - Liar Aura - Aura (same meaning) Linie - Line Draht - Wire I enjoyed the discussion and reaction, looking forward to next week! ^^

What do you mean by PIP? Oh, let me add the full length reaction here in a second! Apologies!

Romaniablack

Just curious, are you not doing PIP videos anymore?
