I was a little concerned with how the live action series was going to handle this portion of the donghua adapted, but they really surprised me with the "extra" material and how the characters of Cheng Xiaoshi and Lu Guang were handled -- it's like a couple breaking up in these episodes! My shipper heart!
But yes, a lot of heart in this one and I wasn't expecting to feel the emotion this time around since I sort of knew what was coming, but this live action definitely is delivering on the pathos!
