Finally, we took a few last shot in the abandoned shower. I kept apologizing for asking her to lean against the dirty tiles nude, but she never complained. Forest was always up for anything, as long as the photo turned out well.

No matter what she wore, she always had a commanding presence in front of the camera. Which is interesting considering in person she can be so shy, insecure, and downright meek.

Eventually we went back inside and experimented with reflections again, this time using an old closet mirror. We decided to shoot her in one of the yoga leotards she brought, simply to have at least one or two images she could share on censored social media platforms like Instagram.

Her shape was just incredible, and she needed no direction. "Just do something," I advised, and the more confused and unsure of herself she became, the better the poses looked.

With the light coming through the windows in the garage, creating bounce light that just subtly illuminated the floor and thus her body, I was aghast at how good everything looked. This was my favorite photo I had taken for almost a year afterwards.

Having only done yoga for a year or so, Forest had already overcome an almost crippling body-image issue, losing weight and creating strength and tone within herself. She was very proud of it and soon began modeling for many photographers in nearby Los Angeles.

Forest was fine being nude, though she wasn't a fan of showing her face too much. At the time, she was incredibly self-conscious about so much of herself, and I'm glad to say in the years since I've known her, she has gained more and more confidence in that department.
