Possibly I should have made this comic about the cat rather than the chickens.

Wait, have I never done a wallpaper illustration with the Victorian Narbonic characters? Time to correct that. This started out inspired by Surrealist artist Remedios Varo and kind of turned into its own thing.
You can get this and a bonus November design from the archives here:
My deepest apologies, dear subscribers, I was sure I clicked "publish" on this yesterday but awoke to find it still in my drafts. Thank you to those who noted me to let me know!

It's funny when the chickens knock on the door, but also a little too much like The Birds.

In the Halloween scene in CHICKENS! A TRUE STORY OF CHICKENS, I drew my old characters Li'l Mell and Sergio in Halloween costumes. (Adult Mell and Sergio are also old characters of mine. Maybe someday I'll draw Old Mell and Sergio.) I liked the way they came out so well I put them in this month's...

I'm writing a story about pigeons right now, and it made me want to draw pigeons. Sometimes there's not much depth behind these wallpaper themes. I hope you like these pigeons, though. They're among my kid's favorite animals, along with chickens, cats, and pillbugs. Maybe next time I'll do pillbu...

We always give out candy and comics for Halloween. I joined Nextdoor so I could answer annual questions about where to find "the comic book house." (Why did I put that in quotes? This is the comic book house. It's full of comic books.) Enjoy our vintage spinner rack.
