Here's the Halloween Eli comic in Japanese! It's 9/19 in Japan right now, making it Quicksand Day there. The "ku" is 9, then "i" represents 1, with another "ku" 9; including "sand" from the 9s and 1 sandwiched together. I think that's how it's explained, haha. Hope you have a nice weekend!
