VCI stands for Volatile Corrosion Inhibitor. It's basically a system where a molecular layer of oil is deposited on every item in an enclosure to shield them from moisture and oxygen.
You've probably already come across them without realising exactly what they are.

Having recently featured an identical looking module (with different circuitry) I felt the need to make a strikingly different thumbnail, as previous experience has shown that similar thumbnails and items makes people think they've already seen the video.
This is one of two very similar meters I bought from eBay, that both have slightly different circuitry.
The other meter will be explored in a different video.
It's reasonably functional meter, and is calibratable with a tiny potentiometer. (using an insulated tool)

The best thing about reverse engineering this light was making sense of how a little extra dynamic current regulator allows lights like this to be dimmed, while using simple circuitry and standard existing components.
