Burial of the Rats pg 20
I like this page a lot.
I feel like it has a lot of energy to it!
Complex action scenes are always a challenge, and I feel like I pulled this one off pretty well.

I've seen some other people do this so I was like "Hey, self! Why not waste an afternoon doing one too?"
So I replied, "You bet!"
To be entirely honest, when I first read "Burial of the Rats", I was so appalled by this realization that the poor wretches were the "horror" of the story, I skimmed through the last half of the story, which becomes a chase scene. I was only interested in finding out whether I was wrong in this asse...

If anyone would like to be an ancient soldier/chiffonier or a member of the parisian constablary, let me know. There's opportunity to fit some people into the last parts of Burial of the Rats!
So here it is...
This was the moment where I had the literary rug pulled out from under me.
So much great atmosphere.
Such great tension building.
For the horror of class warfare?
Oy.
Hey me Droogs!
It's a little over half-way through the pledge drive! We still have a way to go to meet the goal, but I think my reach has been tapped out... I think all of the people on my mailing list that are likely to become patrons have done so already, and all I can do at this point is contin...

I took the opportunity today while making this cartoon to do my first ever precess gif. This required structuring my layes a bit differently in photoshop so I could then make an animated gif out of them...

Hey me Droogs
I've been talking about doing this for a while, and was driven to do the first one today: I want to do a series of cartoons/illustrations pairing cute animals with political statements that would make people think. My big plan for this is to see which ones stick and make t-shirts out...

So cool! 5 new pledges in the first day and a half! On our way to sketchbooks for all!
About the image: someday I'll end up doing a show of just hot redshirts. This one always stood out. The director must have seen something in him, because he THROWS DOWN with Commodore Decker. Usually they ...

Hey Droogies, I made a new vid.
Now the entire page ahas been revamped for YEAR 2 on Patreon!
I know the animation is simple, but still this took all week. Still not perfect, but it's done.
Next one will have to be a little more complex... I'll probably have done "Bur...

This was fun to draw.
A needed change of pallete, and opening up the shot to fill it with sky, dust, and darkness...
Just imagine trying to run up a hillside that gives under each step, biting at your clothes and flesh with god knows what, dust clogging your lungs and stinging yo...

Such corn.
Anyways, Woo Hoo!
3 new patrons in the first half-day of the drive, and another in between then and posting this update!
Thanks a lot, Droogies!

Hey there Me Droogs!
I am starting a short pledge drive tomorrow!
I need to double my pledges to break even with my rent and bills (coupled with my income from the shop), so this is the immediate goal.
Please spread the word! And message me with your adddress if you'd like ...

I considered a tighter zoom on this page, but opted for adding more information. I can and will probalbly have a tight zoom when animating this and pan about the page. Also there are many different layers to this, so that it can be a rolling jumble in action!
Okay, so if you haven't figured it out by now, I am a huge dork. I'll do silly things like come up with a stupid joke on a word play and spend all day making a cartoon to illustrate it. At least I can rationalize it by being timely, as it is Star Trek's 50th anniversary, and we now have a 2016-12-02 04:21:55 +0000 UTC View Post
The first, and the most important to you, my patrons, is that Patreon just corrected a flaw in their model... people are now charged at the beginning of a cycle rather than the end (if a creator opts in, and I just opted in). The way things we...

So it seems that we have a winner, #2, SURTUR.
Pictured above is that tattoo that I mentioned I had done of the design. I am pretty sure I won't be sticking to this color scheme... I like to use mixes of complimentary colors in paintings, and exprerience has taught ...

I was ahead with these and had scheduled the last few posts to be published during the Trky day holidaze, and now I am not ahead :(
This is about the halfway mark in the story. I did a lot of researching for environment accuracy over the holiday, and know a lot more about the area just outsi...

One of the toughest panels so far, launching from a seated position into a full speed run isn't easy to portray. Originally I had some anime/zoom lines in there, but ditched them last minute. I think it reads much better without them.
I must say, this will be a fun page to animate in the motion comic version!
hee hee hee
Happy thanksgiving, Droogies!
Remember all of the rag-pickers and less fortunate out there.
Drop a slice of pumkin pie on the ground for all them who ain't around...
I'm pretty sure I need to put a shot like this between page 4 and 5 to establish the setting... maybe an aerial shot of the mounds around the sorting shack as well. Maybe a map of the Kingdom of Dust? Might be fun!
I really wish the old woman had been given a name in this story. I dislike having to call her by stereotypical adjectives and names, but that's all he Stoker gives us to work with :/
First page is HERE&nbs...

Hey Droogies!
I'm having a little contest, a poll, a vote, as it were.
Pictured above is my tattoo inks wall cabinet, which a carpenter client custom made for me about 10 years ago. It originally (up until september) had a heavy frosted glass door... which finally took a dive off of th...

I've updated the goals and the rewards sections, feel free to change your pledge if you like, but I don't think I downgraded anything... if anything, it's all an upgrade!

Okay so this is my favorite panel so far.
I like the attitude Chancey displays, thinking he's in control of the situation.
The story the old woman tells about finding a ring previously is an oddly long monolog in the middle of this short story. If one doesn't know the history of ...

I had to look up what a signet ring was.
