I've been considering what to make the villains look like for Pretty Julie Technomancer. I think we're going to see something like a monster form and a "gentleman" form.

I'm pretty darn happy with this particular portion of a Lin Bei Fong commission. Emulating Sin City's style is, contrary to what it might sound like, requires a great deal of restraint.

One of my favorite pages I'd lain out is coming right up. I try not to fall in love with my own work too much, that leads down a pretty dark road. But I always like reading it when going over the story. And it's still good now.

Ya know, I really really love windows and light and somewhat domestic scenes. There was a time when I was not drawing cute anime girls and weird creatures, when I would just be painting or shading. And you'd find my composition always had something more of an Andrew Wyeth than a Alessandro Barbucci ...

It's a huge change from what I used to do, but these days I've been getting very fond of this big dirty brush. It doesn't always look professional and a lot of the times the texture can get distracting. But the effect is almost always something I'm pleased with.
