Raycevick's Recommendations: Castlevania (Netflix)

This show took my low expectations of a video-game adaption, and immediately turned them on their head. Upon seeing the credits, it's easy to see why. The show's created by Warren Ellis, famed comic writer of works such as Transmetropolitan, Injection, Trees, Cemetery Beach, and more. While I've not read Warren Ellis' work before (though I'm certainly more inclined to) there's a quality most good comic writers have over Novelists, and that's brevity, stemming from the nature of dialogue bubbles obstructing the artist's work.
Netflix's Castlevania has this same quality. Dialogue's punchy and memorable mere sentences tell you everything a character's about, and it's certainly not tame. Laced with sex, violence, and tons of heart, not to mention breathtaking visuals, it's easy to recommend.
Now... how about a new Castlevania game?
