Raycevick's Recommendations: GRID (2019)

That was very much the case with me upon first playing this hotly anticipated reboot of a beloved franchise. Upon hearing many people's disappointment, I went in with my hopes still high, and came away dejected from the game's physics, content, and lack of advancement.
However, I bought it on-sale and have already clocked in 10 hours. It didn't take me long to realize what was wrong with my previous approach. I went into it with my playstyle of Codemasters' F1 games, like a precision tool. What GRID responds to is sheer brute force. It's so much more like the 6th Gen Race Driver games I grew up with, featuring presentation they couldn't hope to achieve.
On-Sale for as little as $5, and its Season Pass greatly expanding the game's content, I'm glad I gave it a second chance. While it could've done more, that doesn't mean it isn't a blast to play, and for players, it's arcade driving model makes it very accessible, easy to pick up and play.
