It really hit me recently how much the BBC loves M83. Something as simple as an F1 Season Review uses everything from the Oblivion OST (Tom Cruise Movie, not Elder Scrolls), or Before The Dawn Heals Us. However, Hurry Up, We're Dreaming is the album that caught me by surprise.
Nothing's quite pulled me out of a depressed mood like this Album has in a long time. Normally, I'm not one for glossy pop but what I think separates M83 is that its uplifting moments have proper buildup. There's eerie moments of pure noise, narration, and transitions from track to track that remind me more of watching a movie than listening to an album.
I held off on this album for a long time after seeing it's a Double LP lasting over an hour, but truth be told, that first LP went by so quickly I hardly noticed.
