Most underrated game of all time and why?

There's plenty I'd consider underrated. Halo 4, GRID 2, NFS: The Run, Mass Effect 3, etc. I don't think it's a coincidence most are sequels. Traditionally, the disliking of these games is written as "they suck, worst I've ever played" when what they often mean is "I don't like this compared to what came before" which is understandable, but not something I traditionally align with. I go into sequels with the expectation they're not going to be as good, and just because the last game was great, doesn't mean the good game that follows is bad.

To avoid that influence, I'll give an underrated game that isn't a sequel.

Lawbreakers!

It's rare that I meet someone joking at its expense who actually gave it a shot back when it was in Beta. Game was really fun to play.

When developing your '...Years Later' videos, how do you start going about researching your topics (background information on the game, cut content, etc) for the video and what was the most difficult game to look into in this regard?

Watching, listening, reading every article, interview, preview, or podcast I can find, and I liken the process to wading oysters. It's just yard after yard of phlegm. But, occasionally, you find the pearl. Developer says something they're not supposed to, interviewer squeezes out a moment of honesty, or two separate articles connected give you new information.

Alpha Protocol, despite currently working on it, might actually be the hardest puzzle yet, because there's so much information about the game scattered across different websites, videos, and articles, that putting together a timeline of events is quite challenging, especially when trying to keep it somewhat entertaining.

One thing I always do though, is a first playthrough with no research, as I find that gives a purer perspective of the game itself, and serves to contrast a second playthrough with hours and hours of research behind it for context.

Favourite faction in any video game/movie. Can be one you'd most want to live under or just the coolest.

Hotel Moscow in Black Lagoon is just so fucking awesome. Ex-Soviet Special Forces turned Gangsters lead by the world's most intimidating woman who genuinely cares for her troops? The only issue with Black Lagoon is there's lots of contestants. The Rip Off Church in that show comes to mind. Nuns that spend their afternoons drinking to Poker between weapon shipments and drug smuggling? That's a Church I can make sense of.

Section 9 in GITS is equally fascinating. Mandalorians have enough content for their own show. I'd love to rock some Fallout Power Armor. But one I'd want to live under?

Does the Normandy Crew count?

Have you played Outer Wilds? What did you think? (Potential future video?)

What are some games you'd like to make a video about but don't feel like you could add much to what has been said already by other analysts?
