In the spirit of making this Patreon more active and reactive, we're going to open my sketch book to a page I ordinarily don't share with anyone, the ideas. Things I've written a few paragraphs about, or some opening words in my head. They range all over the place, and I can't expose what the next Years Later project is as its one I've wanted to do for years, but can't yet confirm.
Without further ado...
A “Mature” Sports Game
Monologues, Montages, and a Massacre against subtly, this video I'm picturing in the 8-12 minute fun-vein of past projects like The Best Bad Game or Saving the World... 1000 Times Later. The game used as a beacon is an oldie by the name of Blitz: The League. An M Rated Football game with the Mortal Kombat X-Ray's six years early. Though, my goal is to lead to a compelling pitch for a properly Mature sports title, as there's actually quite a bit of potential in both gameplay and player created stories. One that uses its satirical world for exposing players to aspects of Sport you'll never experience in a licensed game, far beyond swearing and T&A.
NFS Heat Coverage
The reason for such a basic title is that I know I wanna do something about NFS: Heat, but haven't secured the topic. It's a game I doubted in its entirety during the build up to release. Yet, I bought after hours with the Trial, and have enjoyed throughout. Originally, I was thinking of a doing a video on the value of cosmetics, as NFS: Heat doesn't obstruct this area many modern games lock behind Microtransactions, but honestly, I'm thinking of expanding the video beyond that. Because in-general, the game doesn't roadblock you. Nothing obstructs the experience. Not only no MTs, but no level-grinds, no interludes, no required connection. It's an NFS game, it's an EA game, that just lets you be (at least so far) and it's something many have missed for a long time.
Games SHOULD Leave You Wanting More
In an age where so many companies are competing for live-services, where RPGs are hundreds and hundreds of hours long, when even old-school shooters want you locked in matchmaking day in and day out for cosmetic armor pieces, I think there's real value in games, and entertainment in general that leave you hungry for more, rather than stuffing your stomach, forced to vomit.
The backdrop for this video is Wolfenstein: Youngblood which I actually played at launch, but didn't overly discuss as the game was already a big talking point, even extending to non-gaming Youtube channels. My issue is more to do with the game overstaying its welcome, rather than it being a specifically bad game itself.
