Have you ever put on a metal album, become absorbed by a spectacular introduction, and enthralled by the choir of heavy guitar tones and pounding drums... only to hear the cookie monster?
Well, Beastwars doesn't suffer from such sins.
The singer's low tone perfectly compliments the band's instrumentation. It's is an album begging to be heard on speakers rather than headphones. The sub-woofer will threaten to collapse your floor by sheer thickness of the sound, rather than outright pace.
Compared to something like, Venom's Metal Black for instance, the band's speed is rather modest. Songs have space to breathe and appreciate the acoustics before pounding drums hammer your senses. Damn the Sky might be the most notable track due to it being a phenomenal opener, but Red God's chorus is simply too infectious for me to ignore, standing out as a personal favorite.
If you've ever craved that heavy metal sound but without love it or hate it vocals, give it a listen, and watch those twin moons collide.
