What game do you think would benefit from having combat removed from it all together and why?

Get Even's combat is just hilariously horrendous from top to bottom. It's so strange for a game to have such a compelling narrative and yet so little to offer in gameplay. Could you get way with axing it completely? ...I don't know, maybe do a SOMA thing where all you do is run, and I don't think much would've changed the experience.

I know a popular answer is Bioshock Infinite, who would've loved to explore its world in the context of a citizen rather than a powered up gunman.

I loved your video about mediocre shooters and why you liked them, do you generally see a shift between those games and today's "mediocre" shooters?

Hmm, the only difference today seems to be priorities. Mediocre shooter campaigns, while they absolutely exist, aren't as prevalent, because the necessity for a campaign isn't there anymore. I also find they're a lot more mediocre in design rather than execution. While games such as Fire Warrior, Necrovision or... lots of other things covered by Mandalore, might be incompetently built, there's usually something attached to them, an art-style, mechanic, or set of characters, that stick with people for years.

Meanwhile, there's things like the Destiny 2 campaign that just vanishes from memory the instant I close the game.

Recently reinstalled Skyrim and I now realize I've spent far more time modding it than playing the actual damn game. Is there a game like this for you and why do you think there is a cycle of "install, mod, play for a few hours, uninstall, etc"?

Assetto Corsa, without question. That game, isn't a game, it's a platform. You hunt down cars, tracks, and skins the community has made, you start it up, and probably delete when you realize you don't like it.

I think the reason we put so much effort into modding though, is the satisfaction of building an experience precisely to your tastes. When your using a car, track, gun, menu, UI, audio, skin, etc, that you couldn't experience in any commercial product, yet organized it yourself, doesn't matter if you only play it for a couple hours, the enjoyment was there before you even launched the game.

What are some of the best obscure games you ever played?

Reflex: Arena springs to mind. Spent dozens of hours just playing Duels with the same friend for months and months. The Haunted: Hells Reach. Alpha Protocol. Quantum League. Most recently, I bought Sky Hook with that same friend from Reflex and absolutely adored it for duels.

It's doubly disappointing when those gems are multiplayer, being that only you and a couple hundred others know of it, when it deserves so much more fandom.

Since the stadia is the latest console flop amongst many. Can you see anyone or anything trying to break into the ranks of what Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo have and have longevity.

Absolutely. Nintendo has already distanced itself from Sony & Microsoft, and those two big companies are in different leagues of big, with Microsoft's net-worth in the Trillions and Sony at a couple billion. Sony's holding onto what it's got, while Microsoft is ready to completely augment its brand in the name of future value worth 10% of what's necessary to grow as a Trillion+ company.

I genuinely don't think it's going to be attached to hardware however. I don't think whoever makes a big splash on the gaming seen isn't the company with the most powerful hardware, but the most convenient. which as I mentioned in the last video, games still have lots to improve on in that category.
