No One Cares About X Game

I read all my comments. Often, I'm questioned why by both fellow Youtubers and even by the commenters themselves. I can't say there's an explicit reason, I don't enter comment sections with a particular goal. It's just a place that's always generating new questions, thoughts, and debates that sometimes, I'm intrigued by.

Through this you pick up on regulars, and not always for positivity.

I'm the sort of person amused by the need of others to spread their misery, so when a regular comments each time I make a video about racing games (the four out of fifty times), they express "another fucking racing game" or "no one cares about racing games."

Expect the channel to be rebranded "Racevick" next week.

But seriously, I think the amusement and intrigue from this post stems from a place of all things, empathy. Mainly because, I remember being just like this. I'd cringe at RTS's, not understand why people play platformers or watch boring ass conferences of people playing linear shooters.

When I see someone like this who discounts entire genres of games with no discernable reason, or won't play something because it's indie, or complains about lack of production in a mid-market game, I often see myself. Ten years ago, I didn't really explore the reasons why a game would grab people. 

Since then however, I've watched multiple analysis videos on games I haven't played yet, I've fallen in love with games that mathematically shouldn't appeal to me. I've been pulled into experiences via friends that I thank them for.

To me, if it's not costing you much money, time, or resources to try a game... then what's the loss? Sure, I don't like XCOM 2's gameplay, so I probably won't care for games that have similar mechanics... but if I've got Game Pass, and Gears Tactics is on there? What's the loss?

Bah fuck it, no one cares about Turn Based Strategy.
