Sometimes, you just need a good revenge tale, and this one that's only a couple hundred years old, holds up rather well, at least in this 2002 adaptation.
While I can't lie, I'd really like to see an extended version of this story told over the course of a mini-series rather than the usual two hour runtime, I never the less completely supported the protagonist and was feeling their rage and thirst for vengance.
Doing go in expecting a masterpiece, just a well put together romp.
Oh, and a young actor you'll almost certainly recognize.
