Ok so fun fact.....Agent Gibbs of this movie becomes the inspiration for Agent Gibbs of NCIS (except on that series he's an NCIS agent not Secret Service). But the first episode of that show uses the idea of a rogue SS agent trying to kiill the President on AF1, the NCIS Gibbs even realizes what is going on is similar to the plot of this movie.
Also I agree with everyone else y'all definitely need to watch Executive Decision, a great underrated Kurt Russell thriller (also starring a certain someone else that will remain unnamed for now).

My favorite moment of this movie is the pilot: "No matter what happens we land this aircraft, is that understood?"
Gives me chills every time.

This was my first time seeing this. Marshall's speech at the start could have tricked me into thinking this movie came out a month ago.
AND HOLY CRAP Elya Baskin who played Peter Parker's mean landlord with the thin daughter from Sam Raimi's Spider-Man movies?! He was Gary Oldman's #2 and I nearly did a spit take when I saw him.

There is a Harrison Ford villain role but it's a twist so just watch all his biggest movies and let it surprise you

I googled "Harrison Ford villain" and there is one movie where he is the villain, but it would spoil the movie to tell you that he's the villain in that movie.

It's honestly the better movie.
It's such an underrated 90's action movie.

This is a fun one, but I think overall I prefer Executive Decision, because Kurt Russel is awesome, and I just found it more exciting overall. But both movies are really good, and Gary Oldman really makes this one shine a lot.
I still really want someone to react to Working Girl with Melanie Griffith and Harrison Ford. It is a rom-com and always over looked, but is so very good. It also has Sigourney Weaver.

They should of spent another couple of million dollars to have 2 of the F15 fighter pilots be Tom Cruise and Val Kilmer to do Cameos as Maverick and Iceman. Would have made this movie epic

As far as I can tell, they've only done The Hunt for Red October. But, that's it for Jack Ryan.

You need to watch Executive Decision with Kurt Russel if you want another good airplane action movie from the 90's

Other "takes place mostly on a plane" thrillers I think you'd like:
Executive Decision (1996, Kurt Russell, Halle Berry)
Red Eye (2005, Cillian Murphy, Rachel McAdams, Wes Craven directing)

Sigh, I rather you don't read the comments below. Unfortunately, someone has spoiled a movie which I'm pretty sure you haven't seen. [EDIT] You can ignore this message. The post has been removed.

Harrison Ford has a small but important part in Francis Ford Coppola's The Conversation (1974), which I've mentioned a couple of times because this year is the 50th anniversary, and because it's a masterpiece. Probably won't make it in time for the anniversary given there's less than a month left, but worth keeping it in mind.

Some Harrison Ford recommendations:
* Witness (1985)
* Mosquito Coast (1986)
* Frantic (1988)
* Presumed Innocent (1990)
And the sequels to The Hunt for Red October where he takes over as Jack Ryan:
* Patriot Games (1992)
* Clear and Present Danger (1994)
I would also add American Graffiti (1973), but he doesn't have a lot of screen time. (This is George Lucas' 2nd movie and his first hit.)
