Chapter 76: Itachi's Eternal Mangekyō

The group made their way to the back of the port to prevent the experimental powers from affecting the ships and other areas.

Shisui and Izumi came along as well, while Mikoto went back to pack her belongings.

"Do you feel that your chakra has increased?"

On the way, Yami asked the two of them.

After the bloodline defects were compensated for, the first thing that changed was the amount of chakra.

When the Sharingan gains additional tomoe and when the Mangekyō awakens, chakra will improve significantly.

"My chakra has increased by about three times its previous level."

Fugaku provided very precise figures.

Apart from eating these past few days, he had spent the rest of his time carefully sensing the changes in his body.

Many times, he felt warmth emanating from his eyes, which made him want to try activating his Sharingan, but he always restrained himself.

Fugaku and Itachi stood apart and began activating their Mangekyō Sharingan under everyone's watchful gaze.

"Only Itachi's pupil pattern has changed; Fugaku's hasn't."

Fugaku's eyes now officially resembled Itachi's original Mangekyō Sharingan pattern, but Itachi's Mangekyō Sharingan, which had belonged to Fugaku, had transformed.

Originally, three windmills with three black dots; those three black dots had become three tomoe. The pattern had completely changed.

Then, both Fugaku and Itachi activated it.

Yami continued his observations.

Fugaku's [Susanoo] remained brown, while Itachi's [Susanoo] was still fiery red.

Although their eyes had been replaced, [Susanoo]'s colors hadn't changed and remained the same as before.

"Yami-san, I no longer feel the pain that wracked every cell in my body when I used the Mangekyō Sharingan before."

"It feels like using normal ninjutsu, only chakra is consumed."

Fugaku spoke about his condition, which surprised him.

'Is this what it feels like to use our eyes with no side effects?'

Itachi agreed.

Judge continued recording their observations.

Then, both of them released [Susanoo] and began using their Mangekyō eye techniques.

Neither of their pupil abilities had changed, but their power had been enhanced, their effects were improved, and they no longer shed blood with the usage.

Now their combat power was at least thrice as strong as before.

Without the side effects of the Mangekyō, using it in battle was completely different.

Judge carefully recorded every word they said after the surgery.

Next came physical fitness tests, vision tests, chakra nature and shape transformation power assessments, and more; the most detailed data had to be recorded.

It took about an hour to complete these tedious tests.

After releasing the attack, Itachi dispelled his [Susanoo] and descended from the air.

Fugaku looked at Itachi with a smile on his face.

Compared to his own abilities, he was happier that his son was excellent.

"I can maintain that level for about five minutes. The chakra consumption is too great to sustain it longer."

"But it's not very taxing on the body. It only requires chakra."

After Itachi landed, he explained the specific situation to Yami.
