I didn't do it because I thought you were broke or were begging, I did it because I really enjoy your videos and anyway I can make your life better like you do for me I'll do in a heartbeat

Dude the reason I decided to support was not because of the house or really any form of guilt. It was because we share a similar interest and you very clearly love what you do which is both fun and inspiring to watch. On top of that what may be a very small amount to me personally I know will add up amongst the group as a whole. It really isn't anyone's business to knock you for having an additional funding stream. The actual costs of buying equipment to film, microphones, lighting, editing software, something reasonable to edit on, hours spent filming, etc, is massive. I'm a professional musician and singing leader. The gear to be able to do that has taken me 30 years to accumulate. It takes 30+ hours to put together a 1 hour session, thousands and thousands of pounds worth of equipment, insurances, updating safeguarding policies, GDPR. I charge between £80 and £150 per session......by the time I've paid costs I've worked over 100 hours a week and earn half minimum wage. It's easy to get hurt by jealous comments, but what you do takes a huge amount of work. I pay a small amount to 5 people on Patreon....it's a choice innit

Frankly, F*ck the haters. Not going to lie on the reasons I signed up to support you was actually because of the house project! Just my little way of helping as I've always enjoyed your content too. Just take all this as a learning experience, you are still quite young and as others have mentioned, the house does not need to be 100% done when you move in.

Screw 'em! No one is holding a gun to their head and forcing them to DONATE! I give a little because I like the videos and the crazy items that you come up with.

Some people just don’t like to support anything and feel they need to be negative about it. It’s normal to have people think that YouTube has made you some kind of millionaire but in reality you earn just as much as someone with a good job each month. I support your Patreon because I like the house build video as someone who also bought a 100 year old house 8 years ago I know how you feel. Old houses come with so many unknown factors but the more you fix the more satisfying you feel inside of giving an old house a chance to feel new again.

It's unfortunate that people are harassing you. Patreon is optional after all.

Nothing greedy about it. The house project has become a video subject and your videos are your income. Patreon is just one revenue stream and I'm happy that I'm in the position to help fund content that I enjoy, just like I buy EPs for the bands I like funded through kickstarter or pay to support the newspaper I read even though its otherwise free.

Elliot! Your generation has been completely fucked over my the housing market. The baby boomers had a big part to play in that. (Thanks Mum and Dad) The fact you were able to buy a place in your early twenties is remarkable. You’ve had to completely renovate the place, whilst working and all the other things life throws at us. All the haters have done is made me want to increase my pledge. It just jealousy. We got you Brother!

Elliot, don’t be silly. Personally I decided to support you on here yesterday because I like your content! There’s no other reason for it. Even the house stuff has been really fun to watch and if giving you a few quid every month helps keep that going then it’s going to a good cause! I guess one thing to consider is don’t feel like you’ve got to complete all of the house of it right away. Focus on getting some essentials in and the worry about the rest later.
