The difference isn't THAT that dramatic, a modern Aircraft carrier could easily wipe out an entire fleet of WW2 ships. A better example would be more like a Modern carrier vs a carrier from the 70s or 80s, it would still be a fight but the modern one certainly has a large technological advantage.

Even though it got them in trouble I fucking love the fact that Chief and Helo both went to save "Boomer" together. They were obviously not happy with each other but when it came down to it they put their differences aside and without even thinking they both went together to save "Boomer".

Yeah I don't think it is mentioned in the TV version but one important element of this whole thing is that the Pegasus is supposed to be a much more modern ship that outclasses the Galactica in one on one combat. When Cane says he is making a huge mistake she doesn't just mean that Adama is starting a civil war, she knows she has the better ship and thinks Adama is committing suicide.

Couple things... Baltar's cylon is Number 6, and his specific one is known as Caprica 6. Second... one of the main things that the humans on the show are having to deal with is the fact that the numbered cylons seem human in every way that matters. Several humans have been intimate with cylons and were not tipped off, and now one is pregnant. They are clearly sentient and capable of independent decision-making, they can feel emotions, and they can reproduce. So they are human in all the ways that matter, but the fact that the colonials refuse to acknowledge that allows them to justify continuing to do terrible things to them. So, ya know, just like what our current "administration" is doing to immigrants.

2nd - Your continuing she's-dead-to-me hatred of Dee for calling Adama to task when she betrayed him on the sly continues to be righteously hilarious.

2 things. 1st - It's also important to remember that not only does Cane outrank Adama, the Pegasus VASTLY outclasssles the Galactica by virtue of its age. It'd be like a Gulf War era Aircraft Carrier going up against a WWII Carrier.
