2020-02-09 14:21:52 +0000 UTCThis was the reaction I was waiting for. Were it me watching, my tears couldn't be held back. "Father" just kills me every time, and then it gets worse and worse. Such epic storytelling. The machine, in my mind, is one of the best written sci-fi "alien" characters to date. Sure, Yoda is cool, Gremlins and Mogwais are fun, and Aliens and Predators are damn scary, but even Drac from Enemy Mine is a pittance of a "person" compared to the machine IMO.

2020-02-09 03:48:52 +0000 UTCI can't watch the scene without tearing up. Truly incredible writing and portrayal. People talk about GOT weddings and I'm like "pfft." Nothing compares to the end of this season and the amazing use of my favorite band's song. The only thing that comes close is Luke falling in Empire Strikes back after being confronted by Vader.

Love that this episode is titled YHWH, which means the one true God. On the surface, the winner here is the false God, but the one true God still has a heartbeat. I love how you called Harold The Machine's dad in the last episode without knowing what was coming. Proof that this was earned!

There was no announcement for a renewal for a while and I think we were all getting pretty nervous. Finally, to our (mostly) relief, it was renewed, but for only for half a season - and we knew that that very likely meant it would be the last.

Harold finally realising he loves his creation and wants it to survive is beautiful. The fact this show made you care so much for a machine is astonishing. Proves right the words of Arthur Claypool (remember him?), it's all electricity, we are all electricity, does it make you laugh, does it makes you weep? What's more human than that?
