It's hard to get through the first episodes of Dollhouse, the actors just don't "get it" and then they just start to gel for a solid show. Shame they had to rush the ending so much, but it's no Jericho or Caprica.

2020-03-24 23:57:10 +0000 UTCI like the idea of him doing more older shows like he did with BSG and Lost and Rome and Deadwood, and 24 is perfect for reactions with its action and pace and twists and surprises.

2020-03-24 17:02:57 +0000 UTCPenny Dreadful would be fun. I think he did the first episode and said he liked it.

2020-03-23 17:27:51 +0000 UTCI second Hannibal, Sons of Anarchy, Orphan Black, Penny Dreadful, and Chernobyl. I also second Dark, but only if you watched it in German with the subtitles. I would also add Dollhouse, a fun two season Joss Whendon show that he did after Buffy and Angel (which I would also recommend if you haven't seen them).

2020-03-21 18:25:40 +0000 UTCHave you ever seen Avatar: The Last Airbender? If not... I will always recommend that show to anyone who hasn't seen it. If you like it and finish it, of course its sequel The Legend of Korra is a perfect follow up to that too.

2020-03-21 18:07:18 +0000 UTCHannibal. Hands down. Perfect POI replacement. Starts out as a case of the week and turns into a fantastic long arc story that will ultimately overtake one of your top ten characters of all time and is only three seasons. If not then 12 Monkeys, Orphan Black, or the Americans.

2020-03-21 13:11:14 +0000 UTCHell on Wheels, The Last Kingdom, The Americans, Spartacus, and Justified are all good picks. They should all be on the next poll.

2020-03-21 13:11:04 +0000 UTCSpartacus - Short and AMAZING action and drama. Love Death & Robots - One season all animated (not anime) individual stories per episode A Touch of Cloth (UK) - British cop show with great humor Orphan Black - It's solid, but the acting is amazing.

2020-03-21 07:43:25 +0000 UTCJustified, please. Nobody has reacted to it, and it is incredibly underrated. Walton Goggins is amazing, and there are a bunch of familiar faces that show up throughout the series. I know you'll love it.

2020-03-20 22:59:26 +0000 UTCJustified would be my main recommendation as I know you enjoyed the first episode a lot and Timothy Olyphant & Walton Goggins kill it in the show! Also have you seen Madmen yet because if you haven't I would highly recommend it as well as the series belongs comfortably in the golden age of TV with one of my favourite ensembles in a series lead by the hugely charismatic Don Draper

2020-03-20 22:48:08 +0000 UTCNot sure if you watched it already, but Orphan Black? It gave me similar vibes as PoI and it has some brilliant characters and some brilliant acting!

2020-03-20 19:23:32 +0000 UTCYou should check out Spartacus as soon as you can . Having watched your reaction to many different shows you definitely appreciate a good villain and Spartacus is most definitely a show filled with badasses of the highest order. I remember you saying you had some problems in the beginning adjusting to Nick E. Tarabay who played Matush in Sopranos and Cotyar in the Expanse because those roles are very different. I've seen him play a lot of characters in various shows and imo nothing tops his role as Ashur in Spartacus. I don't wanna spoil anything other than to say I can guarantee you Spartacus have many different characters that are right up your valley.
2020-03-20 19:18:53 +0000 UTCI think he mentioned that he's seen the first season of it... I'd be curious to know more about what he thinks of the show.

2020-03-20 19:15:27 +0000 UTC**** THE LAST KINGDOM***** on Netflix!!! 10x better then Vikings (post Ragnar ofc) and more historically accurate. Plus season 4 is coming April 26th!!! So you would have lots of content!! IF ANY OTHER ARSELINGS OUT THERE SECOND THIS GIVE IT A LIKE!!!

2020-03-20 18:59:24 +0000 UTCJustified since you mentioned liking it. Another is is Taboo since it's only 8 eps with season 2 coming this year, it stars Tom Hardy.

Just When I Thought I Was Out...
2020-03-20 17:25:08 +0000 UTCWith The Shield being one of Jimmy's all time fav shows Sons Of Anarchy should be something he puts on the list with Sons creat Kurt Sutter being one of the main writers for The Shield, and in the most recent poll that was won by Deadwood, Sons Of Anarchy placed 2nd or 3rd so there is demand on the subscriber side.........all that aside i just think based on eveyrthing I've seen Jimmy react to he will love Sons Of Anarchy.
geoff woyce
2020-03-20 17:25:07 +0000 UTCBosch is an amazing show. It has a lot of actors from the Wire. Nobody reacts to it too. The sixth season is coming in later this year and it has already been picked up for a seventh and final season. It is written well and has Michael Connelys 20 or so books to grab storylines from.

2020-03-20 17:09:43 +0000 UTCI remember rolling straight into I, Claudius after watching HBO's Rome (since it picks up shortly after the end of that series chronologically). It took me a couple episodes to get into it because of the dated production style, but once John Hurt showed up it became some of the most gripping television I've seen. Fun fact; my grandmother was friends with Siân Phillips (who plays Livia) in university.

David
2020-03-20 16:52:07 +0000 UTCThe Orville. -- Initially seen as a Star Trek TNG spoof, but turned out to be serious SciFi, but with comedy. Good Omens. -- Humorous miniseries about the biblical apocalypse. Doctor Who. -- This would be a long journey though (and you'd need a good playlist to keep track of the specials and such) Avatar: the Last Airbender & The Legend of Korra. -- Kid's cartoon of which everybody says at one point "this is not a kids show". I, Claudius. -- British historical show from the '70s about the first Roman emperors, based around some semi-fictional books. Kinda like Game of thrones without magic, special effects nor a modern tv budget.

Tim Arnold
2020-03-20 16:34:23 +0000 UTCAny genre? My one recent recommendation to anyone is Netflix's Dark. It's a German sci-fi show, 2 seasons in, with a 3rd and final season in the works. Like anything live action, I definitely recommend the original audio, German in this case. Don't hear this show being talked about much in the states, much less reacted to, but I still gotta recommend it.

2020-03-20 16:18:59 +0000 UTCBased on your growing enjoyment of sci-fi and your love for snarky/badass characters...maybe checkout Farscape? It is a really weird sci-fi show about an astronaut that gets thrown through a wormhole and ends up in another part of the galaxy on an alien prison ship. It is dark, twisted, funny with absolutely amazing character arcs. I will also second Justified.

2020-03-20 15:58:02 +0000 UTCIn no particular order: Justified (Timothy Olyphant) kills in this show as well, excellent writing and a solid replacement for PoI. Warrior (by the guys who made Banshee), spiritual successor to that show. Jett (excellent choice as well though only 1 season), female version of Banshee without it being over the top. Counterpart (JK Simmons kills). Spiritual successor to Lost, mystery/thriller, also excellent. 2 seasons. Succession. The funniest show currently on air, where you get to see the inner workings of the absurdly rich that are completely out of touch with reality.
