In a weird way, I think Hannibal respects Jack, but doesn't really like him, whereas he respects and likes Will. So to Hannibal, Will is a possible real friend, and Jack is more like a worthy opponent. So he razzes him (so to speak) with things like Miriam's arm, and he definitely takes a sort of base glee in being around Jack knowing that he is who Jack's looking for the whole time.

The opera song is from Giulio Cesare by Handel. https://www.tunefind.com/show/hannibal/season-1/1491

Bryan Fuller said he became pescatarian during this show, which I find weird as it makes the most aesthetic, compelling case for eating meat I've ever seen.

In my opinion...this is the the most aesthetic show I have ever seen. No matter how horrible it is ...they make it look beautiful. Horrifyingly beautiful. Even the food looks stunning and somehow delicious....and I don't even eat or like meat (humans or animals) 😂 It really is an aesthetic masterpiece.

This episode is a goddamn work of art. I still can't wrap my head around the fact that this was on NBC, it looks like something on HBO or FX.
