Definitely read the manga. The adaptations are nowhere near as good. They recently started re releasing the series in these nice deluxe volumes that contain three volumes in one.

The 2016 anime even if it wasn't dealing with the animation issues still plows through a ton of material in a short amount of time and in the process looses a lot of it's subtlety, character & world building moments. Experiencing the post Golden Age arc material in the manga is in my opinion the only way to go, at least until a Berserk anime comes out adapting the manga from chapter 1 by a top tier studio

2020-10-28 07:46:20 +0000 UTCI forgot how good the animation is in this. The 2016 series uses the same animation but it's so much cheaper except for certain fight scenes. Still a good watch once you get used to it

2020-10-25 08:24:37 +0000 UTCYeah the best way to continue it is the manga like you said. But there is also a 2016 anime series that picks up after this movie and continues the story, tho the cgi animation leaves a lot to be desired
