I actually like that Zuko did this. If he had become good after having a fever that yes I know it was an internal struggle, it would have felt hollow. That inner struggle needs to be explored more.

To be clear: Azula didn't just shoot him with fire, she shot his ass with a bolt of lightning mid-Avatar State and, it's heavily implied, actually killed him. The Guru usually gets lost in the shuffle, but I love it. Aang letting go of his grief at losing his people gets me every time, as does the overlay of the guru speaking while Toph discovers metalbending. Is it just Empire Strikes Back? Yeah. Is Empire Strikes Back amazing? Also yeah.
