clarification on the opening scene: its a flash forward. So the shoes are old and fall after the string breaks, more bullets in the stop sign. And now during this time the los pollos truck is the one smuggling contraband. Basically its a flash forward to the future we know in breaking bad.

It’s condescending, manipulative, and hypocritical, but not wrong. Chuck tells him if stays the course he will destroy himself (fact check: breaking bad) and Jimmy is like, you do this and you lose your brother/support system. Facts, but still fuck Chuck.

I mean his mental illness seems to me to literally be internalized guilt about how he treats jimmy. Whenever he sees Jimmy act out or he treats him worse his illness gets worse. He wasn't sick before Jimmy was a lawyer, but was a pretentious asshole.

2021-02-28 18:42:34 +0000 UTCOkay. There's been a bit of a discussion on here recently about antagonists. So, after seeing Chuck in action again this morning, I thought I'd add my 2 cents. I absolutely loathe Chuck. I groan every time he comes on screen. He's just a miserable, hyper-pretentious sociopath. While he is not quite as vapid as Patrick Bateman (I barely got through that movie when I watched it), he's pretty fucking close. However, notice it's not the property of being a hyper-pretentious sociopath that's the deal breaker here - I'd probably pay a monthly fee just to be able to watch Kilgrave go to the supermarket once a week. From my perspective, if you're going to be a piece of shit then you better be pretty damn charming... and that's the last fucking word I'd use to describe Chuck (or Bateman.)
