I think once we find a writer that gels with Jimmy/Dummy, we should work through their good ones (like we did with the In Bruges/The Guard brothers.)

Going by your watched list here's some classics: * Avatar (2009) - The most divisive film James Cameron made, where people love it for what it is, or live to hate on it. * Back To The Future (1985) - The classic time travel movie. * Black Hawk Down (2001) - Ensemble cast, a more romanticized version of a real event when an American helicopter crashed in Mogadishu. Ridiculous cast and a Ridley Scott movie. * Blade Runner (1982) - One of the movies that turned Harrison Ford into a legit star, way ahead of its time, a true classic. * Blade Runner 2049 - A worthy sequel by the hot in the moment director Denis Villeneuve. * Contact (1997) - More of a philosophical sci-fi but asks really important questions. Think of it as an inspiration for Arrival. It's also led by Jodie Foster and Matthew Mcconaughey. * Election (1999) - One of my favorite comedies of all time. I'd like to think of it as a sequel to Ferris Bueller's Day off. Led by Matthew Broderick and Reese Whiterspoon. * Ferris Bueller's Day Off (1986) - Classic coming of age comedy, a bit dated for modern age but it's still a classic. Ensemble cast as well for its time, led by Matthew Broderick. * Ghost in the Shell: SAC The Laughing Man incident - My sole anime entry here. There are many iterations of GITS movies-tv animes - tv anime movies etc.. This is a movie based on the TV series for GITS SAC (stand alone complex). It's like Justified in that it's got the case of the week episodes and overall serialized storylines spread across multiple episodes. This movie is a editing of various episodes to form "a movie" for the main storyline for S1 of GITS SAC. SAC is widely considered the best version to watch the Ghost in the Shell universe, so thought if you liked this movie, you might consider watching the whole SAC S1+S2+Movie afterwards. Please don't mention the abomination that is the live action version by Hollywood. * Groundhog Day (1993) - Another great classic comedy and arguably Bill Murrays best movie (yes including Ghostbusters). Must watch. * Ip Man (2008) - Probably the best movie from all the countless Ip man movies that came over the years. It stars Donnie Yen and is an excellent introduction to Bruce Lee's fabled teacher. * Leon The Professional (1994) - Jean Reno's best movie about a hitman befriending a neglected kid (a very young Natalie Portman) next door. * Looper (2012) - Time travel, Bruce Willis, Joseph Gordon Levitt, Emily Blunt - enough said just watch. * Minority Report (2002) - Spielberg's adaptation of a short story by Phillip K Dick. It's got an insane cast led by Tom Cruise-Colin Farrell- Neil Mcdonough-Max Von Sidow. Probably the best sci fi film Spielberg ever made. * New World (2013) - One of the best gangster movies in KR. * Rounders (1998) - Great film about poker grinders led by Matt Damon - Edward Norton and a fantastic support cast as well. If you like either Damon or Norton it's also a must watch. * Serenity (2005) - The movie conclusion to the much acclaimed tv sci fi series Firefly. Not recommended if you haven't watched the tv show, but a must watch when you get to it. * Source Code (2011) - You like Jake Gyllenhall? This movie is for you. Won't mention what it's about. Just watch. * The Abyss (1989) - Before Titanic, this was the "impossible to film" movie that Cameron made. There's now even a documentary of the behind the scenes in making this film you should watch after seeing this movie. It's batshit crazy how difficult it was to film this. Yet despite it being over 30 years old.. it still stands the test of time. One of the most underrated film Cameron made led by a very strong cast as well with Ed Harris. * The Grandmaster (2013) - One of the most beautiful martial arts movie ever shot. The cinematography alone is ridiculous. In this age of wire-fu and fake-fu, there is some merit to this film in that the arts depicted are actually still practiced to this day in China. From Bagua, Xing Yi, Wing Chun to my favorite Bajiquan. Of course there's some movie exaggeration on this. Fantastic cast led by Tony Leung and Zhang Ziyi. The story itself is all over, so you must watch the 130min original Chinese release (not the Berlin edit or the Weinstein edit). But when the fight scenes are this cool, you don't really need to make sense of the story.

I was just going through the list and oh my god -- does that mean you haven't seen "Léon: The Professional" (1994)?? A cult classic, One of the greatest action drama movies ever made with Jean Reno, Natalie Portman in her first role when she was only 12 years old. And Gary Oldman the greatest actor alive. Directed by Luc Besson - yes the guy who directed The fifth element. But it's a far more serious movie, even though Oldman plays the villain again. Or maybe you just forgot to add it?

I'm gonna go with "Primal Fear" from 1996. A very suspenseful courtroom drama/thriller with Richard Gere, Laura Linney (Wendy from Ozark) and the brilliant Edward Norton in his very FIRST movie role (that won him a buch of awards and an academy award nomination) . One of the greatest acting debuts I've ever seen.

Reusing some suggestions from last time, plus new ones at the bottom. Any of these appeal?: Clue (1985), a who's who of 80s comedy talent does a wacky murder whodunnit based on the board game Speed Racer (2008), the Wachowski siblings campy bright kinetic action packed fun adaptation of the children's anime?  One of my favs. Zodiac (2007), director David Fincher's look at the investigation into the Zodiac Killer, and on the nature of obsession, starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Mark Ruffalo, & Robert Downey Jr. Contagion (2011), Steven Soderbergh's star studded tense thriller about a worldwide epidemic, which while a significantly worse plague ended up being prescient in certain ways Big Trouble in Little China (1986) teams Kurt Russell & director John Carpenter again (after The Thing & Escape from NY) in a campy self aware satirical action comedy that is one of my top 10 movies all time. Kung Fu Hustle (2004), an action/comedy starring and directed by Stephen Chow.  It's basically a kung fu movie mixed with a looney tunes episode, it's absurd and off the wall.  He did a more grounded (slightly) movie prior to this one about super-powered soccer players called Shaolin Soccer which is also good, but I'd say start with Hustle. Maverick (1994), an adventure/western/action/comedy adapting the 1957 show of the same name, about a slick, fast talking gambler and his misadventures attempting to acquire the entrance fee to a major poker tournament.  Stars Mel Gibson, with Jodie Foster, Alfred Molina, and James Garner.  A personal favorite from my youth. The King of Kong:  A Fistful of Quarters (2007), throwing a curveball:  a documentary.  It's pretty funny, about some super strange real life characters.  Talks about competitive arcade gaming, specifically a big fight over the world record for donkey kong.  It's a strange tale of underdogs, villains, and absurdity.

After reading the suggestion for Matchstick Men, I have two more movies where Nicolas Cage is incredible: Lord of War (noticed this wasn't on your list, a great movie), and another that is challenging for your average viewer but I think you'll appreciate a lot: Bad Lieutenant, Port of Call New Orleans. Its extremely absurd at times, but justifiably. A Werner Herzog classic.
