Chuck and Jimmy are two sides of the same coin, just Chuck acts out his selfishness & vindictiveness in legal ways and Jimmy acts out in illegal/immoral ways. Just as Chuck’s illness worsened when Jimmy did some shit, Jimmy’s recklessness always came out at its worst when Chuck was harshest to him. Thing is, I think they grounded (so to speak) each other & balanced each other out when they were together, but now that there’s a schism between them, they’re both off the rails, and they’re taking it out on everyone else around them rather than each other. Also, Howard is my favorite.

Yeah, previously I said Chuck is a miserable, hyper-pretentious sociopath. Tbh, I also think that I missed the mark a bit. In a sense, I think that he wishes he were a sociopath (justice is not only blind but emotionless) - although he obviously wouldn't use that word for it. But, in practice, particularly with Jimmy and (now) Howard, I'd say narcissist would be a better word: a miserable, hyper-pretentious narcissist! Regardless, Chuck is clearly a fucking petri dish of pathology. Poor bastard :S
