1) SONS OF ANARCHY would be my #1 choice for you. The pitch: Yes, it’s one of the great shows of my life, And yea you get the adrenaline and violence; a number of mostly-naked chicks and legit hilarious gold; A Cersei-esque mayriarch, BUT it is everything because of how Kurt Sutter wrote the arcs. Brotherhood; family. Loved ones. Hate and revenge.. Which made for gutting points of drama. Not seen many shows land the ending from ep 1. But SONS does. You should get decent views on YT. It is fan-fav show RUNNERS UP: Yea will admit seeing you react to DARK would be a trip. I’m hear for it. Shows that might not get tracktion on YR, but is damn good: The Americans. Succession is also a HBO homerun. I could go more but not sure what ur vibing🤙🏼

The Americans is the clear choice. If you wanted to do something funny and short, A Touch of Cloth has a total of 7 episodes, all are great fun and they have the same type of humor you enjoyed from Hot Fuzz. You could knock them out in no time and have a blast.

Luther - "A dark psychological crime drama starring Idris Elba as Luther, a man struggling with his own terrible demons, who might be as dangerous as the depraved murderers he hunts." 5 Seasons - 20 Episodes total. Psych - If you want something with non-stop goofy/dumb jokes (good though) and lots of themed episodes based on other shows/movies. Maybe a good pallet cleanser from all the dark serious stuff? The Americans is the answer for you. Remember it being pretty close on the last pole. The Anti-Television show, and I am confident that the two main players have a good shot at your list. I also think, and I mentioned this before to you, Gomorrah and ZeroZeroZero are something you'd highly enjoy. I at least wanted to get them on your radar. As gritty as gritty can get. Both fantastic shows. With your boys, I think Succession would be the perfect choice. Two seasons in and quickly becoming HBO's biggest show and has the cultural momentum, so that helps too. It's written superbly and is filled with entertaining characters. I also think Barry would be a great choice for the group. Also two seasons in. But for you, it has to be The Americans. You're ready for it considering what else you have watched. None of your expectations will be met, and yet you will be completely invested in the journey. Has maybe the best 2 lead characters combo of any show out there.

I would avoid Sons of Anarchy, personally. One of those shows that doesn't maintain its early quality and thats always disappointing. The Good Place, Mr Robot or Barry would be my top choices. The Americans isnt a bad shout at all also.

1. Counterpart ( Spy/Thriller/Sci fi). It is perhaps one of the most creative and fascinating show that has come out in a long while. It's led by JK Simmons along with an incredible cast of characters. The premise is fascinating, the acting is great, the writing is excellent. The reason nobody saw the show is because it aired on Starz and really wasn't promoted. It's two seasons but the writers had a chance to wrap things up nicely when told it wasn't getting renewed. 2. Warrior (Banshee's pulpier cousin). Based on the writings of Bruce Lee, led by the guys who made Banshee (along with their incredible stunt team), it's over the top but fun like Banshee. Some familiar faces migrated as well (like Job and the bad ass marine colonel). Show is worth the watch for the fight scenes alone. It was 2 seasons and was fated to die from being on Cinemax (as they are moving away from original programming) but through sheer fan demand HBOMax renewed it and a 3rd season is currently shooting. 3. Jett (female Lucas Hood). Led by Carla Gugino and Giancarlo Esposito, she'd be the female version of Lucas Hood. Yet another unfortunate victim of being on Cinemax. Sadly unlike Warrior, there doesn't seem to be a lifeboat for a second season by other networks. Still for a single 9 episode season it's definitely worth the time investment as it gives off the Justified/Banshee vibes. 4. Mr Inbetween. This show is just different. It's sort of like Umbre (Romanian) which follows the daily life of a hitman (in this instance being an Australian). It's at times beyond hilarious, sad, way too realistic. Led by a protagonist where you truly don't know how to feel about him. It's really engrossing. Besides, you'll get to catch up with Dewie Crow as a strip club owner that gives shady jobs to our main guy Ray. 2 seasons available, 3rd and final seasons airing currently. The shows I recommend are definitely less mainstream but considering the other shows you've liked in the past, any of these would be a great replacement (especially since it's not a huge time investment).

Sons of Anarchy, the Good Place, or Ray Donovan. To be honest, Sons of Anarchy practically seems made for you and is packed with stuff that I know you'll love seeing. The Good Place is very different from everything that you typically watch, but it's one of those shows that becomes clear the creators were planning things out far in advance. And Mr Robot is a magnificent show with fantastic acting and a vibe that's unlike any other show on television. Any or all of these three would be a fantastic choice.

I have two suggestions: 1) The Americans. Fantastic drama/action series. Summary: At the height of the Cold War two Russian agents pose as your average American couple, complete with family. 2) Homicide: Life on the Street. The precursor to The Wire. It's based on the book by David Simon, who would eventually go on to create The Wire. The series follows the homicide unit of the Baltimore police department. The first two seasons only have 13 episodes in total, so it's a minimal commitment to see if you like it.

Throwing a weird one out there: Turn: Washington's Spies. It's imperfect, but there's a lot to like. It's a period series about spies during the American Revolution, very very loosely based on some real life badassery, ran for 4 seasons, and has some pretty tense espionage and brutal decisions and some action that I think could grab your interest. I did kind of a binge of it early in the quarantine last year. It's on Netflix.

You need to watch Succession on HBO, you would love it. It’s basically the early seasons of Game of Thrones set in a modern media corporation. Power struggles, backstabbing and plays for the “throne”. There’s only two seasons, 10 episodes each so far but it quickly became one of my favourite shows of all time. Plus, it’s got Brian Cox from Deadwood and he plays a character I know you would instantly fall in love with.
