FULL LENGTH HEREDITARY (2018) MOVIE REACTION

Comments

I would not evade anything on the road, my dads a truck driver and he always told me you will kill yourself and others swerving off the road like that, I'd it a dear or something, really anything that won't decimate your vehicle, never swerv. Sure we ran through quite a few deer's like that, but we never went off the road and crashed into a tree and i never got decapitated, haha.

I kinda wish you could do a seperate "slow/cerebral" movie category that you just watch on your own without Cash. I really enjoy him in most of your movie reactions but he just doesn't seem to like the slower, more subtle stuff that isn't spelled out for you. Everyone can like what they like but I feel like it detracts from your experience when he clearly isn't into it.

Ari Aster's films are deffo not for everyone but I personally loved this one and Midsommar - I'm glad you're going a bit out of your comfort zone and watching things you don't usually.

Selin

Completely disagree about Midsommar, I feel they would enjoy it more. Though everyone is entitled to their own opinion but I think they'd be way more interested in a cult, psychology storyline vs a supernatural one and also I feel the acting in Midsommar was great but I get it's all differing opinions.

Selin

I forgot that you weren't a fan of horror, so I voted for this. It's a great horror movie in the vein of Rosemary's Baby where a "normal" family going through "normal" shit has supernatural powers fuck with them. To me, horror is supposed to make you feel apprehension and dis-ease as you approach some dreaded thing. This does it very well with great acting by the parents. The casting of the son was way off IMO. In fact, I don't think I'd hire that actor to be in anything other than a zombie because he sure did pull off the quirky body contortion thing. His crying and basically every line fell short to me. Whatever you do, don't watch Midsommar, it's similar in the "things are odd and fucked shit is gonna happen" but it has a crap story and horrible acting too.

Yes yes yes perf movie for her just needed cigarette

Ashley

Ehhh. I enjoyed the movie but the supernatural stuff annoyed me. I was hoping the mother was just crazy or something like that... Also the little girl didn't really have much to say or do. Was she cast in the role just because of her creepy appearance? It works I guess but kinda mean πŸ˜‚

Liam

Please Please Please watch these videos if you find the time Jimmy, it explains so much important stuff about this film!! Because (not trying to be mean) I don't think you understood the most important parts. πŸ˜‰ which is fine, I watched it several times, to understand most of it. These are not long videos! But they are pretty great and important to understand the movie! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hW_GokVMbNA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u1ZHy3nYBjg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gb8oa7PrCck https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N7mWHe-N_sw

While this is Cash's least favorite movie, this might be my least favorite reaction so far to be honest. The son did not kill the sister. There was something lying on the road and he tried to evade in time. Which is something we would all try to do if see something in the dark, So it was not his fault. BUT the thing on the road was planted there to cause the accident. And nuts were put inside the cake deliberatley to harm the girl. THis family wasn't in control about anything that happened to them. They were used by the cult. Like puppets on strings or like figures in a model home - which is of course forshadowed in the opening scene. And whey he couldn't tell his mum about what happened...he was in shock and grieving, he didn't want to be there when his mother found out, because healready felt not loved. But the mother did love him. There was just so much trauma that she couldn't show it. But she tried to protect him from her mother. . Of course it's weird how he handles himself after the accdient to an outsider. But he completely shuts down in that moment, just like everybody else does in this family. He blamed himself even though it wasn't even his fault. He didn't know of course that someone had planned it. Why did you hate him. I seriously don't understand. πŸ€” Probably because he was my favorite character next to the mum (both of the actors killed it!) I SERIOUSLY recommend watching some analysis on youtube. because this movie is not easy. The cult was behind so much, and this family had no chance or control from the start. It will become a cult classic and I'm so happy it got phenomenal reviews. mostly, but was of course snubbed at award shows.

Ninaofthe90s

Toni got snubbed the year this came out. Incredible performance.

I completely agree. I also want to see more reactions out of Jimmy's comfort zone. It's why I recommend movies like "The Hunt". Sure, he has watched drama before, but I really think it's interesting to see a reaction to a danish movie. And to see Mads Mikkelsen whom he knows from american roles in a movie ich which they speak danish would be very interesting to me. I don't care about Cash either, (he annoyed me so much during this one. Does he have to make stupid comments every five seconds? About the little girls face all the time for example - it's how she looks! ). I'm not trying to be mean, but he ruined my enjoyment completely. I'm usually trying to focus on Jimmy, but I just couldn't here, because he was talking the entire time. ugh I wish Jimmy would've watched alone - he did for The Lighthouse...Cash would've hated that one too of course. He hates everything he doesn't understand.

Ninaofthe90s

I'm pretty sure you have seen The Sixth Sense - so you have seen another movie with Toni as the mother of Haley Joel Osment in that movie. And she was fantastic in it too 😁

Ninaofthe90s

no matter if you love the movie, like it or don't like it. You HAVE to appreciate Toni Collette's performance. It's my absolute favourite. She's insanely phenomenal!!! I actually think this movie is better on a rewatch. After watching it the first time I thought about it a lot, and while it's my favorite movie of that genre in a long time - I loved it way more after I thought about it and watched some analysis. And then rewatched it. πŸ‘ I don't even think horror is the right word. It's a psychological thriller/drama about grief and depression.

Ninaofthe90s

Jimmy I have been watching you since you started Game of Thrones so when I recommended this movie I KNEW it was not going to be one of your absolute favorites, whether it be the nature of the film or just the fact that it is horror. (And I knew Cash would despise it but its Cash so whatever) But I am the one who has been recommending some of the anime movies you have watched recently and I just like seeing you watch movies that are a little different than the usual. This is one of my favorite recent horror films and like you said the acting in it is absolutely amazing. I am not going to go into the explanation of the film but when I say everything is connected and there is a reason for everything I mean it. I will continue recommending movies a little out of the comfort zone and hopefully I keep getting lucky and the movies get chosen, I have a pretty good record since I started recommending. PS - You said that you were going to create a list for television shows akin to the one you made for movies, any progress or did you just decide not to do it? Or did I miss it?
