I was happy to hear when you were doing this cause I thought that you’d enjoy the two leads and their relationship/dynamic. Isn’t it really interesting to watch the past be so alien in regards to the subject matter? Because today psychology is the spine to the bureau and all agencies of criminal activity. Criminal profiler and psychological profiler. I mean they have huge divisions that seek to understand bad guys even before they even go bad. It’s wild to me how unique this story is not just because it’s similar to the Americans in how it creates a certain tone — sort of an independent film — while building an intensity with the small details. I just feel like this is such a well done show.

2022-10-13 14:25:57 +0000 UTCoh my god finally!!!!! I don't know if you remember me saying this but the guy who plays Holden Ford - Jonathan Groff - he also plays King George in Hamilton. Just imagine him with a crown on his head and him staring intensely into the camera. 😂 the role couldn't be more different, just shows what a great actor he is. Edit: Oh good you figured it out on your own 😁 Oh and David Fincher, the showrunner and producer, also directed episode 1 (this episode) and also episode 2 and 9 and 10 of season 1. And three episodes of season 2. I mean it's obvious...I recognize Fincher's style within seconds 🙂 the fact that this is his show was the main reason I wanted to watch this. I've always been interested in the psychology of serial killers. And the 70's were the beginning of serial killer profiling. Holden Ford is based on a real guy. I like watching documentaries, movies or tv shows about real of fictional serial killers. The mini series about Jeffrey Dahmer on Netflix was also very interesting. Even if it's disturbing. And David Fincher also made Se7en and Zodiac...he really knows how to make disturbing content about serial killers.
