I love this movie. So much fun and just the right amount of seriousness and camp for a modern version of the classic action adventure genre. And I would like to know that most of the people were not meant to be mexican, but spanish-born noblemen as Spain was the ruler of that area at the time. So not as bad as it might seem at first casting wise. I believe Antonio Banderas was the first actually spanish cast as Zorro. Although the legend of Zorro is in part based on a mexican bandit legend Joaqin Murrieta, which is the name of Banderas' brother in the film. A nice touch to the story.
