2023-05-25 16:43:51 +0000 UTCthis won 4 oscars : Best picture, Best actor (Dustin Hoffman), best director and best screenplay. Sadly no Hans Zimmer. One of his best works. "Barry" made me think of this, I loved how they used the Rain Man score for one of the scenes. And the credits. Fuches was watching Rain Man in prison and when he saw the scene with Charlie walking down the road with Ray behind him he said "That's us". Lol he saw himself as Charlie and Barry as Raymond. I've always loved this movie. It really gets to me. One of my favorite movies. I especially love the script, the music, the characters and the chemistry between Tom Cruise and Dustin Hoffman. It's just beautiful and so sad. The music adds so much. I get what you're saying, but for me it's not like Joker or Nightcrawler. I think this is a great movie in every way 🙂 I mean sure... nowadays we have thousands of movies like this...but this was 1988. And I saw it earlier than all the other similar movies. So for me it was really original. Which is why I love it won for best picture. THIS is special. Nowadays you just get cheap copies.
