Still...I appreciate that you warmed up to it a tiny bit. 🙂 Definitely surprised by that comment! But also..Horror might not be your favorite genre - but you reacted to quite a lot of them since you started movie reactions. And you've enjoyed a lot of them! Now when it comes to this movie. I totally understand why people love it. But I just don't feel the same. I always prefered the book. I think there are Stephen King adaptations that are just as good or even better than the book. This is not one of them. Did I enjoy Jack Nicholson - yes. Do I think this is as brilliant as everyone says it is. No. The directing was great. I like most of Kubrick's movies. But I have to admit that I actually enjoy - for example - Eyes wide Shut more than this one. That's a pretty underrated Kubrick movie. Some of the shots are insanely good, yes. And I agree Shelley Duvall's performance was not convincing. It definitely weakens the movie. Overall, it was nice. I haven't seen it in quite a while. To be honest, some of those scenes actually got on my nerves, because so many people reference them all the time, and I have seen those scenes way too many times. So I had no interest in watching this movie again because of that. But now that I have seen it again - it's fine.
