I watched this movie for the first time the night before I went to see the sequel, and did not care for it at allโฆ but the sequel was so good that it somehow made me feel nostalgia for the original.

The BEST movie of last year, one of the best action movies ever made and it's also Tom Cruise's most successful movie of his entire career. Which is crazy, considering the movies he's done. But I must say I also have a weakness for this movie. Is it as good? Certainly not, the sequel is objectively better, it's objectively great. This one is more nostalgia for me. I love the characters, especially Goose - everyone likes Goose, right? And... well the sequel doesn't have Goose of course...so that's a bonus. I enjoy all the other characters, Maverick is great! I love the score and the songs - especially the opening, which is not in this reaction ๐ the action scenes are very well made, and I even enjoy most of the really cheesy moments. Also...Goose dying still pisses me off. How dare you ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ The action is really well done. But it's no comparison to the sequel. I don't know if you know this but Cruise is actually flying the jets himself in the sequel. It's insane! Though I wish you would have watched this in the cinema - because it was made for the big screen. I watched it in IMAX five times last year and it was one of the best experiences ever. The adrenaline I felt watching this, I can't even describe it, the way it was filmed...I'm sorry but no other movie could compete last year. So you watching this at home will sadly not have the same effect, but you still have to watch it.
