Movie Suggestions/Schedule Update
Added 2024-02-02 23:15:46 +0000 UTCHey all, apologies for not getting the second DC up for the month of January. Will be putting that up tomorrow. Craving a violent (and possibly stupid) movie, not sure yet.
Suggestions for the movies for February? (If you can put all your suggestions in one post, that'd be great.)
But here's how it looks like for the next several days.
Today - The Bear 2x9, 2x10
Sat - DC #2 (still not sure what that is)
Sun - The Office 6x4 & 6x5
Mon - TLotR: The Fellowship of the Ring (DC #1 for Feb)
Tues - Jujutsu Kaisen 0
Weds - The Office 6x6

Here's the pitch: It stars Chris Cooper, and features Matthew McConaughey, Kris Kristofferson, Joe Morton, and Frances McDormand. Directed by John Sayles, the best indie film director of the '90s. It's a mystery with a little bit of western thrown in. What's it about? Well, solving a mystery. But it's also about the legacies our parents leave us, and how we can or can't escape the past. And, for a movie made in 1996, it has some pretty interesting things to say about race relations in America. Not an action film, but a fucking excellent movie.

2024-02-03 07:48:12 +0000 UTCHero is excellent if you liked Crouching Tiger Versus is what you described above, violent, silly but fantastic if you want something higher in quality The Favorite is a fantastic movie with fantastic acting (but is a period dramedy) An arthouse gem that is a unique masterpiece is 2046 If you want something of a sexy film noir with good acting and story Manhattan Night is excellent But if you want simple brainless violent silliness you can't go wrong with Stratham Crank 1 and 2 are wonderfully violent and ridiculous The Transporter (only the original) is a great action movie and the French District B13 is a high adrenaline action movie with amazing stunts. Btw... When will you be watching Andor? Now that you finished the Bear maybe?

2024-02-02 23:37:44 +0000 UTCQuick descriptions: Speed Racer is a fun and goody and action-packed live-action adaptation of the 1960s anime of the same name, from the Wachowskis Extraction 2 is the sequel to the first Hemsworth film which you enjoyed; another faux-one-take like the first plus wall-to-wall over-the-top action; violent and dumb, as requested!! King of Kong is a funny and brisk documentary about people competing in old arcade games, specifically Donkey Kong; it's funny and endearing Gattaca is a sci-fi movie about gene manipulation and it's effect on society, but it's much more personal than that premise suggests; not actiony...a sci-fi drama. One of my favorites of the genre. Starring Ethan Hawke & Jude Law Porco Rosso is an animated film from Miyazaki and is my favorite of his; a whimsical and wry fighter pilot with the head of a pig is an aerial bounty hunter in a fantastical version of post WW1 Italy
