2024-09-09 16:44:33 +0000 UTCAs someone who has suffered from sleep paralysis since I was a young kid like Nellie, it was really cool to see it being discussed in this show! I'm surprised more horror doesn't have it as an element, because especially when you're a kid and don't understand it, that shit is scary. I wasn't someone who ever saw things when it happened, but not being able to move your body and feeling like you can hardly breathe is scary enough on its own, trust me.

2024-09-08 17:52:34 +0000 UTCI think the twist works better if you believe that all the kids have some sort of psychic ability that's been passed down from their mother's side of the family imo. Nelle's ability giving her the power to see her own death but, in turn, is haunted by it her whole life.

I understand what you're trying to say about the "it feels cheap" - don't worry, the show hasn't wrapped anything up about that yet. No book is currently closed rn. Although pretty much everyone I've scene watch that were upset about it. It feels unfair - Nellie is such a sweet and caring sister. She doesn't deserve an unavoidable death. It feels like a betrayal to establish that she's been dead since the beginning - and yet that is the premise of the show anyway. You can't save her, Nellie is already gone.
