Totally legit to not dig the frame narrative or the final scenes, though my interpretation of that final scene is a little different from yours. Rather than just being in her head, I've always felt like that was her passing away - she brough the diamond back, and we see from the pictures by her bed that she's lived a full life and done all the things her and Jack talked about. And all the people she sees in that final scene, aboard the Titanic? They're the ones who died. No one who survived is in that scene. Not her mother or Kathy Bates' character or the villain, etc - just the dead, and now she's joining them.
