The 1st movie definitely feels like a complete package but this trilogy still holds up so well. I also forgot just how awesome Beckett was AND how much darker this movie felt sometimes compared to the first. Good stuff Jimmy! Can’t wait for the 3rd

Davy Jones is still probably the best CGI live action villain of all time (he’s way above Thanos for me). The action and set pieces are top notch, the story is intricate, and all the characters are interesting and get arcs. Barbosa showing up again at the end is still one of my favorite movie moments. I absolutely love when an old antagonist comes back to fight an even bigger enemy.

Maybe its cuz we are in an era of American CGI and especially Disney CGI looking terrible,Davy Jones legitimately is an amazing work of CGI and Bill Nye is awesome,but Lord Beckett is the one I'd thought you'd like alot Jimmy. His cunning and Snootiness is great and Lord Beckett has lived as a pretty memorable villian on the Internet.

2024-05-25 14:21:26 +0000 UTCthis movie won best visual effects at the oscars in 2006. And it's one of the most deserved wins in this category. Almost 20 years later it still looks insane, better than a lot of movies today. Especially Davy Jones. It looks brilliant and so detailed. The motion capture is fantastic - Bill Nighy is so great as always. I absolutely adore the character. And I know you'd love Beckett. He certainly makes a big impression from the first moment he arrives. I love what they did with Norrington, they certainly made the character a bit more complex. Barbossa eating his apple in the end felt very satisfying. And yes it's only half a movie. The second and third are basically one movie. As goofy as the movie is, it also manages to set up A LOT of great characters and their different ambitions. Hans Zimmer's music is of course insane. I went to see him live several times and listening to this score in concert is a phenomenal experience. Thanx I had so much fun watching this reaction. I think it was my favorite in quite a while. I did not expect you to enjoy it THIS much. Considering how goofy it is. The first movie is definitely more grounded. And it balances the different themes better in my opinion. This one is more like a seesaw, it's either extremely goofy or extremely dark. It somehow manages to be sillier and more serious than the first one. Just not as well balanced. But I don't want to complain really, because I love all three of these movies. The first one might be the "best" movie but the other two certainly are more epic in scale.

I can reassure you that, yes, you will get a lot of Beckett in the next movie. While he and Davy Jones are both in 2 & 3, I’ve always felt that Jones was the main antagonist of 2 and Beckett was the main antagonist of 3. He’s easily my favorite villain of the franchise, and I look forward to watching you watch his scenes.
